There were talks for Dallas G out of Philly but it sounds like the price was too high.

This season has the feeling of a car crash with this team
Not sure if we are overreacting as fans, but that's my feeling as well. As I and others have said, a nice win against the Bengals and this is in the rearview obviously. But right now, I'm a little bummed.
I think it's fine to be a little worried about this team given how last year went and not seeing many of our starters play in preseason....  but this is a much more talented team than last year.

Problem is, we're down a young potential playmaker in Irv, we have a lot of new faces on defense that need to gel, and our illustrious "leader" isn't vaccinated so we have that ticking time bomb in the background just waiting to explode.

I'll say this though...  even without Irv, we still have Thielen, Jefferson, and Cook.  I'll put those 3 against any teams top 2 WRs and RB.  Our offense should be good again as long as those guys stay healthy and Kirk lives in a bubble up until kickoff.  Defense should be better... if it's a lot better, we're a playoff team again.

Just have to see how the chips fall.

Agree with all that....

I have to admit that anti-vax weirdo Kirk has taken the shine off of this upcoming season for me as well.  I always supported him as a QB that could win us a SB with most/all surrounding pieces but I now question his "martyr" mentality of him against the world playing a "game" which is a team sport.  QB is also the defacto leader and his individual mindset is worrisome for me.  Even if we start off like gangbusters I will have the Cousins Covid curse hanging over my team all season.
Yeah there is definitely a dark cloud. There are still OL issues. I love Jefferson, Thielen and Cook but if the OL doesn't come together, there is still going to be issues. Plus Kirk is off right now, his preseason play showed that. We'll see what happens.
Not only is Kirk off, he lost the receiver that he was most comfortable throwing to in the preseason.

CWonder how many games before we hear Jefferson on the hot mic yelling just throw the d@mn ball or something to that effect.  Not feeling good about either Cousin’s psyche or physical presence this season.  He can’t be in a good place.

His 365 yards are easily replaced by any 3rd string skill guy, especially with PlexiKirk winging it their way.

It's not his contribution last year we're trying to replace. It's his expected contribution this year. He was going to be a huge part of this offense.

This is my #1 concern. Doesn't matter what you think about Cousins as a passer, or Cousins as an anti-vaxxer, there's no doubt his biggest flaw has always been leadership, fire in the belly, ability to respond to pressure. So he's an easy target for outspoken divas like Diggs or JJ.

How does that manifest itself now that Kirk it out on a limb? How does he handle the added pressure? How will his teammates respond if he misses a game? How will he respond to that response? Given his mental makeup, this is the last guy you want in this position.
