If Nick Foles clears waivers, and the Vikings can sign him at/near the veteran minimum, I'm fully on board. Kirk Cousins is at risk to miss games and Kellen Mond needs time.

Super streaky guy. Honestly, anything is better than Browning.
I'm not a big Foles fan, but I don't think this team can go into the season with Browning and Mond as their backups.
I agree on Browning, but why not Mond?  Maybe I'm in the minority but I actually thought he did some nice things in preseason.  Especially in the last game where he broke a collapsing pocket multiple times and kept his eyes downfield and used a pump fake to buy time before he took off to run.  Very un-rookie like behavior.  I also liked how he had a tendency to get the ball out quickly.  The offense looked much different with him in there compared to Browning and even Cousins limited preseason snaps.

I know it's not ideal since we'd rather have someone with actual NFL experience at backup, but if Kirk misses multiple games, are we making the playoffs?  Probably not.  I will say this though....  if Mond and Cousins aren't vaccinated, we should probably either keep Browning on the PS or find a veteran backup who has had the shot.  Otherwise we could be completely f@#$ed if Kirk or Mond tests positive at any point this season.

Hes not ready,  remember he was facing guys  that very likely will find their names on this thread in the next few days.  He showed what he needed to show in a pretty vanilla preseason game,  but lets not rush him.  let him roll at QB3 for this season, maybe give him some mop up duty if its ever a thing again in Minny,  and shoot for him to get a bigger role next year.

Thats a very good point Wet...

Neither Mond or KC are vaxed that I know of.

I dont trust Mond for now in the least. I saw less from him this pre-season than you did.

They could sign me? I ran the hell out of that triple option in middle school

I think Foles would be an important addition. Even if vaccinated, people are getting this new type of COVID and every team should have a plan if their starter ends up out for a bit. In my opinion, Browning hasn’t earned a roster spot. He’s just not good enough. Mond has shown some flashes, but in real fire against starters, I think it’s asking too much of the young guy. I hope they get a solid veteran backup ASAP.

MB: He did some nice things, but this was the first time I'd seen any of that outside of College Station. I think he should be ahead of Browning, who was awful again, but I don't think he's ready to be QB2. I'd feel a little better if we had a guy like Foles, or Bortles even.

Obviously, this team needs to have a multi-tiered approach
at QB, since the two guys we’re committed to are unvaxxed.  We should be keeping them sufficiently separated,
such that if one gets Covid they both don’t have to stay home.  Furthermore, if they both get sent home at
the same time, we should have a vaxxed QB somewhere in the pipeline.  That said, I think people in general are a little
too concerned with worst case Covid19 scenarios for our QBs.  The worst case scenario in my mind is Cousins
being out 3 games, one for 2 games if he gets Covid, and another for 1 game if
he was near someone with Covid.  I don’t
think that’s super likely, but there’s a moderate chance he could be out for a
game or two.  I just don’t think people
should be fearing Mond getting a game or two to the point of thinking we need to
get a Foles caliber QB unless he’s super cheap.
I think if Cousins tears an ACL or something, we can look at our options
at that point.

Mond has already had covid, so he is better off than if he had been vaccinated according to recent research.
