Not sure what to think....

Its preseason. But it hasn't been good. Kubiak went up to the booth to call games after having been on the field for the first two. How do you not know where you want to be by now? IMO, you just see the game better from up high but that's just little ol' fan me.

I think there's legit cause for concern
I think it's really tough to get a bead on this team given who hasn't played at all this pre-season
I think KC is going to have to earn my trust again, feels too much like early last season
I think the D may not be as strong as I had hoped (with the LB's especially porous and thin)
I think Zimmer didnt do the team any favors not playing the entire team at all this pre-season
I think the entire pre-season gets forgotten if they win vs Cinci
I think having Griff back is going to make a difference

Nah, there is a lot football savvier fans than me here.

Fans have every right to feel legit concerns. OTOH, if a Viking team had to play all year without:

Hunter
Barr
Kendricks
P2
Harrison Smith
Jet
Cook
AT

We'd be a lock for top 4 draft pick

As far as the in the booth or on the sidelines, it sounded like that was Zimmer's idea. He was interviewed during the game. Zimmer said he didn't want people bothering him. So what players are going up to him and saying give me the damn ball? He said it's better to see the field from up there. That's important. I just wonder was it Zimmer saying go up there? I wonder where he will be during game time? He is also still learning. This is his first time calling plays.

Interesting. I believe Kube Sr. called plays from the booth. Looks like Zim thinks it'll be easier to do without having the distractions on the sidelines, allowing him to focus solely on what's happening on the field.

I thought Cousins played OK. I didn't see any wild throws, or any open receivers he missed or any time he held the ball too long. There was that silly attempt to run, but that was because his receiver was double covered and fell down. There was also a blitz through the B gap that was missed. Is that on the center or the QB? Or just the RB who failed to pick it up? Dunno.

The first drive IOL protected really well. Nice 80 yard drive.

My concern on D is the three tackles--Pierce, Tomlinson and Richardson. They were inconsistent, missed tackles, generally weren't the force you would expect them to be. Of course they got no help from our three linebackers--Lynch, Dye and Vigil. Kept thinking that...Lynch, Dye and Vigil against Patrick Mahomes. Wow. On the 2nd TD, Lynch was in coverage. Confident Kendricks makes that play.

On the first TD, you have to wonder about the wisdom of putting Breeland one on one against Tyreek Hill. That's a TD waiting to happen. Hill wins that foot race every time.

Rest of the game was irrelevant except for the fact that Mond may have moved ahead of Browning. Mond is just as awful as Browning is, but at least with him you have the running factor.

No opinion til the Bengals game. Preseason is meaningless unless you really want to figure who both teams are playing at all 22 positions. Every season you hear rants and raves league wide that don't pan out when the lights of the regular season shine.

Browning looks way too skittish in the pocket with live bullets, I don't see him being anything worth a damn. Too early on Mond but if the guy got #2 reps, maybe we'd see a progression. His arm is the real deal.
