Getting Rid Of Gophers

Instructions were simple enough:



Run a gas hose from your BBQ propane tank into the gopher hole. Let-off a “little bit” of gas into the hole. Propane is heavier than air and will settle into the low spots below ground.



Ignite from a distance . .

That looked like good clean American type fun, didn't it? Too bad he didn't save it for the barbecue with the in laws!

I have a neighbor who is a retired fireman.  He got rid of my gophers by lighting a road flare; sticking it down the hole and sealing the hole in my yard.  Worked like a charm.

just make sure the flare isnt close to pvc sprinkler pipe. Made that mistake once.  (burned through one of the supply lines to the manifold-antisiphon valves)

Interesting. Been looking for a less back-breaking way to rototill the garden.
