The NFL just informed clubs that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week season in 2021 due to a COVID outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will FORFEIT and be credited with a loss for playoff seeding, per sources.

Massive implications.
"Man they are really ramping up the draconian overlord thing."

I though private businesses could do what they want? What's going to end up happening because dipshits won't get vaccinated is that there will be a world for the vaccinated and a lesser than world for the unvaccinated. Fun, normal things to do for those that are vaccinated. France has already started this. Choices have consequences. Its how it should be.

The New York Yankees approve this message.

the stupid part about this message is that it doesnt take into account whether the positive test comes from vaccinated or unvaccinated players,  a roster could do everything in its power and by this rule it could still end up forfeiting games due to this policy.... dumb statement to make IMO.  as far as the policy goes... well its basically the rules they followed last year before a vaccine and they had a season. If the vaccine works and the majority of the players have taken the vaccine,  then there should be much much less trouble this year with the case counts way way lower across the board combined with high vaccination rates.   i find it interesting that the league will take this stance with its players,  but isnt going to make any limitation on fans in attendance.  wonder why that would be$$$ (ooops meant to hit the question mark)

Read this yesterday. It's a sad story that likely plays out every day at one hospital or another...

“One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late,” she said of her COVID-19 patients.
“A few days later when I call time of death, I hug their family members and I tell them the best way to honor their loved one is to go get vaccinated and encourage everyone they know to do the same.
“They cry. And they tell me they didn’t know. They thought it was a hoax. They thought it was political. They thought because they had a certain blood type or a certain skin color they wouldn’t get as sick. They thought it was ‘just the flu’.”
But they were wrong, she said, and they can’t go back.
“So they thank me and they go get the vaccine. And I go back to my office, write their death note, and say a small prayer that this loss will save more lives,” she wrote.
And then there's this:

There are no words to describe how foolish this is.
Perhaps the most unfortunate thing is he's raising children...

Yes....this is just like not getting vaccinated (eye roll)......and why are you bringing up Biden and Facebook to me. What's that got to do with this? I've already said I dont like Biden. But because I hate Trump and I think not getting vaccinated is lunacy, I'm a Biden lover. Sigh......

This is a forum.  I didn't even quote you, so I am not "bringing it up to you".  I know you aren't a Biden lover.   Nobody is.

I am pointing out the draconian overlord tendency in the public square right now.  Facebook doing the bidding of the Govt.  After 4 years of the dems screaming fascism, they are now welcoming it with open arms.

I am reading quotes that the NFL memo states "among or as a result of unvaccinated"

paragraph 5 salary."You read that right: NOBODY GETS PAID."

Happy to hear that teams are bringing in professionals to help separate myth from reality. Still, somewhat shocking that an NFL team days a way from training camp is only at 50% vaccination. That's a bit shocking, considering most of these guys are college educated. This race to full vaccination is the first real contest of the season, and maybe the most important. Go Vikes!
