Even Years = 30-33-1 (.476)

Odd Years = 34-14 (.708)


That discrepancy is jaw-dropping.

That is pretty jaw-dropping. But it's also obviously coincidental. Last year was the injury year, the covid year, the year we transitioned our secondary. 2018 was the year Cousins made the pro bowl so he had a pretty good year, but Dalvin missed several games. It was the Daniel Carlson year, the Everson Griffen flip out year. The year we tied Green Bay, and the weird Buffalo game. 

This year the Vikings are due for a little better luck. And they've built a roster to go with it. Fingers crossed.

After being a fan of the franchise since the 70's, I find myself wondering...Are the even or odd years more representative of the Vikings as a whole/over the decades?

I wonder how much does scheduling factor into this?  2 games (now 3) are based on ranking in your division.  It would make sense that those couple make a year harder or easier wouldn't it?

It should but it doesn't. Frequently, the NFL's top team has an easier schedule than a .500 team or even a bottom dweller. There is data to support this but don't have time to look it up.

stands to reason since the top team can't play itself twice a year, while their division cellar dweller does.
