OT Any cord cutters with Youtube tv and Chromecast Google tv?

Been a long time cable subscriber but it's just getting too expensive... After some research, I'm leaning toward using Youtube-tv as the streaming service and Chromecast Google tv as the streaming device. Plan on doing a free trial soon. In the meantime, anyone have experience with these choices? Thoughts, recommendations? Thanks!

I have YouTube TV and I am very happy with it. My son loves the lack of commercials and the ability to forward through them. It's an the time you save without the commercials. I can't watch Minnesota hockey and basketball there but I can stream them elsewhere. I love the on demand section to watch something when you want to. I tried Sling before. I had a Roku and one of my tvs has Chrome Chromecast built in. Used to have Prime as well.

Thanks VG! What are you using for streaming device with youtube-tv? I understand there is a feud between youtube-tv and roku. Because of the falling out, new users cannot access YT-tv with a roku (the streaming device my son recommends). Based on channel listing, we can watch all our usual channels with youtube-tv, including Big Ten so can watch gopher hockey and football. I've always wanted to see the Women's hockey team play, have an outstanding record!

I go with Roku and FuboTV. Screw google. I love FuboTV. The only drawback is the 250 hour max of recordings. The interface and channel selection are much better as a sports fan, and they have Marquee network locally. With Google now trying to bully RokuTv you kind of have to decide whether to support Googles attempts to brainwash the public, or go elsewhere.

I hear ya waterboy! Not a big fan of google! Course I'm using google wifi for home network so they probably already know all about me... LOL I'll check Fubo-tv! My cable dvr only has 40 hrs for high def so 250 is a nice boost!

My dtv bill was about 150 a month, I called and said I was dropping because I could get the same channels from their streaming service and they cut my bill in half. Actually cheaper now than their streaming service of the same package, and cheaper than a streaming package from my phone/ internet provider so I guess I am sticking with my satellite for now. Not that my story helps unless you want to try dtv. I just couldn't give up balleys sports and the twins and wolves (just for laughs) and the wild ( so I can keep up my tolerance for heart breaking seasons year round)

Wow, they sure wanted to keep your business Jimmy! Nice! I moved too far west and lost track of Minnesota professional sports (except the Vikings). I get the Big Ten channel so I can follow the Gophers (mostly hockey, some FB). Our total cable bill for tv and internet is a bit north of $200/month. Too high for our watching habits. We could easily cut out at least a 1/3 or 1/2 by switching to streaming live. We'll see though, gotta do some trials first... I like that streaming services are non-contract, switching to satellite would put me in a contract situation...

2-year contract with Dish was done and so was I. Youtube TV through Roku.
