What 2nd year players need to step up big
#1
James Lynch.
Even Mad dog Randle endorsed this guy but he looked overmatched at T and too slow for DE

KJ Osborn.

this dude was pretty electric in college but we saw little to be excited about. There was one blurb last year about him showing up in practice otherwise a huge disappointment

Dru Samia
All i can say is he looked like he did not even belong in the NFL

Troy Dye- looked lost out there

pretty good draft capital spent on these guys all 4ths right? KJ a 6.

Isn't Samia a third year guy now?

Other than that I think the big step ups need to come from the DBs and LBs,  funny to say but those seem like our biggest areas of weakness now and my biggest area of concern aside from OL....but I think that is just part of .my bike vikefan DNA now.

Do 2nd year 4th rounders need to step up? I don't know. Be nice if they did, but I'm not really expecting much.  Be nice if Samia's light goes on though.

The last time a 4th round pick worked out was 2011.

And Everson Griffen came close to getting 86'd by the Vikings before he wised up.

The obvious one is the first round pick, Gladney, but unfortunately he might’ve already torpedoed that plan.

And it’s actually his third season but since he spent most of year 1 on special teams, I’ll say Kris Boyd. He got a lot of reps last season so if he can build on that, I’d be thrilled. Especially since he was such a late round pick.

Of the players you listed, I think Troy Dye is the only one that is in a position to challenge for a starting position to replace Wilson and will battle Vigil and Surratt for that role. The rest of those players on your list will likely be gone.

Agreed, I think Dye has an opportunity here. KJ Osborn doesn't need to be on the team IMO
