Moving to #4 better be for Fields or Lance

I know we need our O-line fixed in a bad way but paying QB prices to move up to #4 for one would be really, really, REALLY dumb. I don’t think any GM including our own would do that.

EDIT- I agree with @ilovebritney. Hopefully the Vikings are sending smoke that they’re moving up for OL, but they actually have eyes on a QB. It’s probably happened at some point (?), but I can’t remember a team giving up a ransom for an offensive lineman.

I can't disagree with that...

You know Pitts would be worth it too, but obviously they wouldn't do that for a TE.

Moving to 4 would be a kings ransom.

Teams pay a king's ransom for a franchise QB, not for a LT.

Or a TE...

Scouts speak of Sewell as generational talent.

Sewell is going to be the #1 OT taken...Maybe they see Slater as someone available in that 7-11 slot..

And he might be. But if the Vikings can stay put and get a good OT (Darrisaw) and keep all their picks, I would much prefer that over giving up future 1s and picks this year to move up to 4 to get Sewell.

I see nothing about Slater that would be compelling to require a move up. Probably the highest floor of the Top 3 OTs. You don't move up for safe in the top 10.
