Lol. From the  who can look away from a car wreck file. Took a glance at P1's board. THEY'RE COMING FOR YOUR GUNS!

Also, for the 713th time P1 is wondering aloud if he should shut the board down. Lolololo. The more thing change, the more they stay the same.
A year ago at this time....P1's board had activity equal to this'n.

Then came the NFL with their wokeness/2 national anthems/ kneeling.

85% (guesstimating) of that board QUIT.
QUIT...watching the NFL.  Long before the first kick of the season.
QUIT...posting on chat-boards.
QUIT...playing fantasy football.

I know...I was one of them.

It's not a "car-wreck".... it's a principled/determined decision to remove yourself from the "woke" NFL.

Chortle (P1's board's demise) if you must...but keep in mind you are chortling the decline of NFL football  across the board.
The Decline Of Football Is Real And It’s Accelerating (forbes.com)

I remember the day you and Sticky migrated from PT to here, in search of a "better home".
You were largely met with "open arms".  From many of the posters, you laugh at, now.  Check the tape.

Laughing at others searching for their "better home" as posters reeks of historical  ingratitude and gracelessness.

I guess that I'd be mean in pointing out that the article is over a year old, and that the already-mentioned monster media deal is going forward.

Oh, wait...it's just being honest and accurate.
Oh , my bad.  I stand corrected.
NFL is en fuego!!  Muy caliente!
I always found Spanish to be be the most dramatic of languages.

I dont know Savie...

I'd put French right up there with Spanish in capturing drama (and romance).

Fans, we really need to find a way to keep guns from bad people. I have no idea how anymore, but we gotta try something, cause what we've been doing for too long is really, really broken.

As someone who has handled his fair share of manure spreaders.....
An unmanned one would be very dependent on the species specific manure being spread.

Cow/Pig/Chicken......probably a bad day.
Horse/goat/rabbit.....meh, worse things have happened.

Enough,  this board is about the topics and not the posters.  If you dont care for his contributions then ignore them.

Oh the drama!! What's next? Throwing down your napkin, standing up and saying, 'I bid you good day, sir!'.
My vocab is dramatic, eh?   I'll try to tone it down.
I'll leave this for the audience.....

what's more dramatic?
- savannahskol rhetorical flourishes? B)

or

- StickyBun changing monikers (Doogie Howser) to go stir shit up on another board, and come back
Here to complain about that other board members' discussion topics?

Dude, you keep bringing this up but I've already admitted it, what's the big secret?? IP addresses don't lie, lol. Its hilarious. So is there a point or do you not want to discuss the actual topic of the thread?  Wink

lol, he keeps bringing it up like some kind of big reveal. I've never once denied it.

Savannah is our little drama queen, I know he's very delicate. Finding all of those obscure and hilarious link sources takes a toll. Maybe hug therapy?

Aren't most of these folk "legal " gun owners, until the bullet makes hole in someone.  There just may be an issue on who is considered "legal" or why are you "legal".  More guns in folks hands just ain't working to well.

So how do you suggest we fix it?
Shared database between jurisdictions for mandatory background checks.    End liability protections, for manufactures, sellers and owners.  FastTrack red flag designations so something common sense can be done without having to so much red tape.
I'm with Jimmy on this that I personally don't see any reason not to have a more robust background check.  I'm fine with red flags as long as the purchaser can know it exists and challenge it if they feel its wrongfully applied.

I also have the same concerns with Jimmy on liability protections.  You don't like the beer comparison but let take kitchen knives for instance.  Certainly produced to cut meat.  The knife manufacture cannot be held liable if you go on a slashing spree as you're using the item off label.

Edit lol, then I turn to page 7 and Jimmy made the same point about knives.
I say hell no to red flag laws.  No way that doesn't get exploited to block legal gun purchases.  Mental health is very subjective.  Look at what people said about Kanye West when he met Trump.  Suddenly he was a danger to himself, having mental health issues and all sorts of bullshit.  Now I have no idea if he does have mental health issues, but the way it gets thrown around to disparge people the leftist disagree with.

A doctor in Oregon lost his medical license because he didn't repeat the covid mantra.  Look at the front line doctors, they were disparaged every which way while Fauci is held in high esteem despite changing his story more often than Biden changes his mind in a press conference.
If youre a doctor and denied covid. You do need a mental health check.
denied covid?  Lol, the thought police are out in force

There's nothing to deny.  If you're to stupid to see that covid is very real you do in fact need a mental health evaluation.

Same goes for flat earth'ers, 911'ers and moon landing'ers.  Basically if you need a tinfoil hat you probably need a wellness check.
Who denied covid?  I am questioning your ability to follow a thread.

I brought up Kanye because people speculated on social media about his health for the simple reason that they disagreed with him.  And the doctors gave their experienced opinion but were attacked, lost licenses and such because people disagreed with them.

For those simple reasons, I don't support red flag laws.  They will ultimately be used by dishonest people to get at people they disagree with.  Having the gov't in charge of mental health is the definition of insanity.
You might want to let the Kanye thing go or dig a little deeper. The questioning of his mental status was due to his behavior, not his opinion. Yes, he supported Trump. Then he said he no longer supported him when he heard he went to the bunker. There was that time he stated that slavery was a choice for black people.

Kanye himself talked about his bipolar disorder. He said that during episodes he believes in conspiracy theories and feels like people put chips in his head. When he was 'supporting Trump', he also decided he was going to run for president. He went on campaign rallies and screamed that he almost killed his daughter (via abortion) and that Harriet Tubman didn't actually free any slaves. I remember him posting a video of a grammy in the toilet with him pissing on it. His own wife made public statements apologizing and asking for grace while they tried to get things under control.

He was having mental health issues, not disagreements.
The point was, people used it on social media to attack his views.  Yes, he may have actual mental health issues.  But using that to discredit someone they disagree with is exactly what I am talking about.  If red flag laws were implemented, they will likely be abused.

Discussing someone's mental health publicly is wrong IMO.  Especially when it is used to discredit them.  If a family member was unhappy someone bought a gun, they could simply sow those seeds.  And once they are scattered, they can't be picked up.
