I think we had a pretty good offseason so far, but I would
say that if our OLine regresses, so will my feelings on how we did.

I think we’ve done a pretty good job of getting high value
players without breaking the bank and improving the roster as a whole, but we’re
putting a lot of faith in us coming out of the draft with 2 starters on the
OLine.  I think there’s a very real
chance that our OLine regresses far enough that our skill position players won’t
be able to compensate.

I think if we go into the draft with the same roster we have
now, our first 2 picks need to be OLine, but I just don’t see Spielman being
able to invest that heavily in the big uglies.

I think we’re probably in line for a 9-8 to 10-7 season with
a first round exit in the playoffs.  I
think if our OLine regresses, we’ll be back to seeing more bad Kirk, and our
season will again be heavily dependent on Cook staying healthy.
Well we certainly need a LT after losing Reiff.  I am ok with it being Cleveland, that is why he was drafted.  But then we need a guard.  or 2.  So ideally we pick an LT round 1, leave Cleveland at guard (with the capability of moving to LT if needed in the future) and then a guard round 3-4.
Yeah, I'd move Cleveland to the left side, draft a LT prospect in the first, let them duke it out for who gets tackle and who gets guard, then I'd draft a RG with our second pick.  If that first pick is legit good it eases a lot of problems, but we still need the interior guys to not suck.

Huh.

1. Our offense was solid last year.
2. He hires a new OC every year, with lots of noticeable changes along the way. If any team could use some stability on offense, it’s probably us.
3. In a way he’s kind of admitting we’re 4-5 years behind the curve. Zim’s a straight shooter but... strange.

I’m reading way too much into this but it strikes me as odd.

Mike Zimmer said he talked to Xavier Woods and told him "this is going to be a good situation" for him.

"I think he's got another level to go to, and I think he has a chip on his shoulder as well. I like that about guys."

Isn't he talking about the defense?

Ohhh LOL. Video wasn’t clear to me but what you said makes way more sense.

I'd love to criticize Zim's comments, but he is playing it exactly as he should.  Tomorrow we may trade for an OL or sign one in free agency.  We may hit it big in the draft and address the OL there.  But I am holding my breath, as we clearly have not improved on our biggest need at this point and there will be temptations in the draft to select a DE, WR, LB early.  If the starting OL going into the season is O'Neill, Dozier, Bradbury, Cole and Cleveland ... then I will be hot.

Mike Zimmer said he was "down in the dumps" at times when looking at his depth chart at the end of the season. He said the Vikings' additions in free agency have "rejuvenated" him.
Jesus, I am STILL down in the dumps about the depth chart on the offensive line!  You have to been kidding me when talking about Hill as a potential starter at OT.   Then line up Dozier at LG next to him.    Yeah let’s roll with that!   But hey the defense and secondary is theoretically improved from last year’s miscalculation! We are all good!

If only there were some way to add players between now and opening day.
