Makes one wonder what a Cousins offer might have looked like.....were there one.
There will never be one for this dude.  Don't no other team want to give up anything for him.

They ain't going to pay his salary when they can get someone just as good (at least in terms of wins) for a lot less.

Stafford got a haul and many Kirkstans firmly believe that he is worse than Kirk.

The only outcome is the Vikings just let him play out his deal, add a couple of void years next year to lower the cap hit and eat dead money to get him out after next year, or worst of all, extend his sorry behind again.

They have spent 94M bucks so far and only made the playoffs once.

That is not good enough.

It does not matter whose "fault" it is.

The strategy has not worked and doubling or tripling down on that strategy is fool's gold or bitcoin.

Do you kick your dog when you get home?
Don't have a dog and would not kick one either. With so much animal cruelty going on it is really not even something to joke about.

I know how it is though.

I am supposed to be excited for this season and I should forget about last season and not think about the 45 million cap hit next season.

If I am disappointed in the current QB in terms of how he affects wins and the cap, then I am not a true fan.

I am cool with that though.

This team is being praised for the moves this year which are nice.  On paper.

They added a defensive tackle that most observers thought was a nose. It's confusing but he has played 3 technique so there is hope. Long term, if that is Ok to think long term here, he does offer insurance if they want to move on from Pierce who may or may not get back to his 2018 level (his 2019 level was not that good at all).

They added a veteran former Pro Bowl corner who has not played up to that level the last two years. I hope he rebounds.
They brought back Mackensie which is really overloading the corners but the experience is needed.
They brought back Weatherly because they soured on Odenigbo who many thought would become a starter for a few years at least.
They should add a safety too.

On offense, they brought back Hill which is OK (he hardly plays though) and traded for Cole who is just kind of a MEH move really.
They still need a starting caliber left tackle and left guard IMHO.

The thing that bothers me is that last year gets swept under the rug.

They made the decision to go with Elflein and Dozier as their guards and did not draft one until the end of the 7th round.
They made the decision to go with all young corners with only one having 5 starts under his belt and he was oft injured (Hughes).
They did not try to get a veteran (like a Desmond King for example) all season.
Even after these truly awful decisions, they doubled down on stupidity and traded for Yannick without any clue if he would extend after the season.
I mean, WTF was that move about?

Yeah, I am tempering my excitement for this season because of the fact that they made these moves last year and did NOT make the playoffs even with one extra team added.

I guess I am not welcome here unless I praise everything they do.

So youre more of a glass half empty guy on the Vikings then?

Maybe the Vikings arent for you?  Ive been getting kicked in the nuts by them for +3 decades and I keep coming back for more.
You’re more them welcome to stay even though Im not the one to ask.  But if all you can find is negative in everything they’ve done...are you really having fun being a fan?

Since when does one have to drink the kool-aid to be a fan of this franchise?  They have certainly given more to be down about than up haven't they?  Easy here on Mark,  hes not some bit or troll that just stops in to bitch,  hes been around long enough to earn the right to disagree with the direction of the team IMO.

Disagree? Sure. Become a one note kazoo?

Whining about Cousins permeating just about every fucking thread. Fuck that.

Agreed. And while pretty negative and pessimistic in his most recent comment in this thread, what he said about last season specifically is hard to argue.

The Vikings bungled it badly. Hopefully they’ve learned from it. I love most of the moves they’ve made this offseason so while I’m still skeptical Kirk can lead us to a Super Bowl just like Mark is, I’m trying to focus on the good moves and on getting more talent in the draft.

Assuming no other big trades happen, OL needs to be the pick at #14, and I think it will be.

Like any other post you are free to ignore them,  I just dont think we need to attack fellow posters on the football board for a different opinion.  I dont keep score but I really haven't noticed him being over the top with his displeasure.

How in the world do you do this without knowing who is going to be "your guy" at #3?  I guess unless you know who the Jets are going with.
Jets HC was the Niners DC last year. Extremely good chance the Niners know who the Jets are taking.
And the Jets OC also worked with the 49ers the past 3 years as the passing game coordinator.

My gripe isn't with Cousins play over his tenure---but moreso with our lack of vision putting adequate to even par oline support around him.   CRAP fix the oline just once during his remaining time here and then see if he can produce.

I get it.  But this is the off season.  Its a time when we don't lose a single game and get new toys to play with.  I don't know if the team has a chance next year or not but its fun to dream.  To me thats what being a fan is all about.

but if he disagrees with the direction of the team,  which many fans do, doesnt he have as much of a right to bitch as we do when we disagree?  we all dont shit rainbows over every move.  Yes the same person saying the same think in every thread is hard to stomach,  but I hadnt noticed that from Mark (not like jersey was on spielman before he parted company)

if we dont want the board to become an echo chamber,  we need to remember to be tolerant of those views we dont necessarily agree with.  its something I have to try and remind myself often.
