Zeus Jr Wants Out of Baltimore
#1
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Ravens OT Orlando Brown has requested a trade. This builds off reports last month that Brown only wants to play left tackle. That's unlikely to happen in Baltimore with Ronnie Stanley (ankle) expected back by training camp. It's hard to see the Ravens moving on from Brown with upgrading their line a top priority this offseason. Brown is entering the final year of his rookie contract. The Ravens hold all the leverage.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Ravens are allowing OT Orlando Brown's agent to explode trade scenarios. The 2018 third-year pro has decided he's a left tackle after ably filling in for Ronnie Stanley in 2020. The Ravens are going to require a genuine haul to trade their mauling right tackle, but a disgruntled player who is presumably not amendable to signing an extension, Brown would fetch an early-round pick. At least "exploring" a trade makes all the sense in the world.

These players now a days are ridiculous. It's "I don't like my position" or "I don't have enough say in personnel" or "I don't like the style of offense we run" so going to demand a trade.  I hope more of these teams stick to their guns and not let the players dictate their way out of town over a hissy fit.  We just let Diggs do that exact same thing. Honor your contract and when you hit free agency...go wherever you want.  Until that time, they need to quit bitching and play football.

Probably just his way of saying pay me LT money.  I honestly doubt he cares if he plays Left or Right Tackle as long as checks reflect top tier pay.

I personally believe the NBA is a crystal ball for where NFL is heading on this...

If you're unhappy today, you're probably going to be really pissed off in 3-4 years.

Young NFL players see themselves as NBA superstars - hanging out with hip-hop singers, controlling where and who they play with.

Old NFL fans want the players to be like the boys on their local high-school team.

On a more relevant note: Brian O'Neill is starting the 4th, and final, year of his rookie contract. He's a UFA in 2022 unless we sign him to a new deal, and I'm sure the team is already thinking about it.

Will the Vikings try to pay him the lower salary of a RT? I could see it as a point of contention. The difference between LT and RT might not be as extreme as it was a few years ago, though - there are some RTs like Lane Johnson with high salaries.
