TX Mayor: Only the strong will survive!

Texas was warned repeatedly about preparing for the changing climate and ignored the warnings. Maybe they listen now but I doubt it.

But is Texas any different than any other state who's waited for an unprecedented natural disaster to then be reactive instead of proactive? 80% of the infrastructure of cities in this country are on the verge of catastrophic collapse (water mains, waster water, etc.) and things rarely get rectified outside of a major event. Bridges are in decay, etc. IMO, this is just a way for liberals and the media to bash on Texas for obvious reasons.

The knife cuts both ways....or at least it should. I can recognize the bias here.

Right, but we’re supposed to have warmer weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But even if you have colder weather alot of their issues are water related right now. You cant just go and relocate billions of miles of pipes easily.

What if it's the truth though? What if Texas decided to deregulate its energy and have its own power grid (run by ERCOT) because of an irrational, Q-like distrust of federal government? And when the temperature dipped, the only grid in TX that didn't fail was the only one NOT governed by ERCOT.

As much as we love to, this is not liberals bashing Texas or even republicans. Because it's not just republicans to blame. What's more, even Cruz and Abbott --after a laughable attempt to blame green energy--are calling this a disaster for the way they manage their power in Texas and placing the blame directly on ERCOT. I guess they're bashing on TX too.

Failure of Texas leadership, multiple chances to make right over the years.  I feel for the citizens who have been voting against the leadership who brought Texas to this point.  ERCOT has been a mess and will continue to be

Who wants to pay taxes for infrastructure, not boomers, that went out of style in the 80’s.

Or the Q school, where it's taught that frigid temps in the south are caused by Jewish freeze guns in space.

I watched Al Gore’s inconvenient truth. Its why I moved to TN. I have future beachfront property here.

Dont even try the climate BS. I freely admit that the planet is being affected. But you have to laugh about going from ice age to no ice on Earth to “climate change” over the course of 2 decades.

At least with “change” the “experts” can never be wrong.

LOL,  there it is.

This is not the first time the deep south has experienced freezing weather.   There are instance of is being nearly this cold going back 100 years.   Difference is this time it came in at the same time as some moisture and it made a mess... its called weather and it changes all the time,  sometimes to extremes.
