Welcome to the brighter side of life. Been an exclusive Apple user going back to the days of the old 2ci in the early 90s. Now have a Mac workstation, a Macbook Pro and three iPhones. I'd never used an android or a PC in my entire life until about two years ago when my company had the bright idea to put everyone on the same platform. Writing this on a top of the line Dell PC. The difference is astonishing. The way it does everything is just...stupid. I've convinced my new boss to put us back on Macs this spring and I'm hoping to never see a PC again.

I've probably told this story before but it sticks in my brain like a burning spear: 1998, running on the treadmill with my girlfriend, I turn to her and say "hey, now that Steve Jobs is back at Apple, I'm thinking about investing $1,000."

And of course I never did.

I won my $20 inauguration bet with my college buddy and offered he could pay in bitcoin. I begged an pleaded with my wife to let me invest $1000 in the fall of 2011.  I had been following Ron Paul quite heavily.  I looked it up I think I'd have about $1.5M in value right now.  Now honestly I probably would have cleared out my initial investment and let the rest ride but shoulda, coulda woulda.
You guys think you have it bad.  I have invested 45 years and thousands of dollars being a Viking fan with no ROI.

Amen to that @minny65, I feel your pain bros...

I'm on our 2nd Mac Desktop. I got 8 years out of the first one and I'm on year 4 for this one...I did it right with 27", Retina Display, 5k resolution, upgraded memory, processor and graphics. No this isnt a gamer pc, but it's kinda close.

My favorite Apple purchase over the last year? Our 4k Apple TV. Such a better interface than anything Sony or LG smart tv offers. I think it was some ridiculous price like $225.

Me too.  Do you happen to have the woofer?  I am curious to how good it is. I have two SLs and the new ARC.  They sound clean with moderate bass, but that woofer will finish the job

tell me more about your setup. Was this an upgrade from some sonos ones, or your first buy?

I've pretty much got everything you just listed. I love the simplicity of the Apple iOS, and having all the items working seamlessly in the Apple ecosystem.

I have an older desktop Mac that's starting to crap out a bit on me, so I'm waiting for the new desktops to come out, the ones with Apple's own chip vs the Intel they have now.
I have a new M1 Mac mini with 16GB ram and 1TB hard drive on the way. You will be better off waiting as there are apparently some quirks with the M1 that need to get ironed out.

actually an interesting story...

I went in to buy a BOSE system for outside, and there was this guy setting up the SONOS in Best Buy.  I asked him where the BOSE outside speakers were, and he said,
Before you buy a BOSE, can I show you something?

Usually I dont bite, but I had some time to kill so I said, “yeah, sure”

He whips out his cell phone and asks what I want to hear....he points to a speaker
across the room...and BOOM....its off and running....he tells me how its wireless, without the “wireless delays” between speakers.   He controlled one speaker, then two, then three....varied the volume on each from his phone....

then he said...watch this.....on two speakers he played “crashing waves”  and on another “hawaiian music”...

I said “Holy Shit.....are you gonna be here a while? I need my wife to see this”

Long story short we got home with our new “play five”, set it up, then the next day went and bought THREE more and a bridge.

use them inside and take them outside for partys.

I have the apple thing as well. iPhones, iMac, iPad airs, MacBook pro. Since I switched my business over in 2008 I just could never go back. My iMac still works perfectly and it is a 2011 model)).

What kind of issues have they been having? I'm waiting on the desktop Macs to come out, so hopefully by the time they go on sale whatever issues there are will be resolved.

Nice!
I first experienced Sonos this past summer when staying at a relative's home in Sonoma, CA, and I was blown away too. I suppose I should've known something like this existed nowadays, because why wouldn't it, but I had no idea.
So of course I started researching and same as you, this Fall I started with a Five. Plugged my record player into it and was impressed. But then I needed that sound all over the house.
A month later Santa brought us three Ones and a Move. So now we have good coverage throughout the house and the Move as-needed for the deck.
I would've gotten a Beam soundbar too but I really want the Arc so I held off. And then I want the Sub... And another Five... And paired Ones everywhere... So yeah this journey is just getting started haha.
But my wife loves it too because it's so easy to play stuff from her iphone. And with a baby who gets bored easily, we're moving around room to room a lot wherever he decides to crawl off to. Super nice being able to bring our music with us.
Didn't mean to derail the thread, it's just very similar to how Apple hooks you with one product and then you fall down the rabbit hole. At least it's been that way for me.

EDIT- For anyone wondering WTH we're talking about, Sonos sells speakers and TV soundbars that you put in each room (or outdoors) of your home. You can play phone/TV audio over WiFi to any-or-all of the speakers.
