I would love to see the Saints collapse into a smoking heap of horse crap, but Payton has had a year coaching (rehabilitating) Jameis Winston and should have the inside track to re-sign him. Mock Winston for his 2019 30-INT season, but 5 years ago he was a unanimous #1 pick and has all the physical skills for success. My hunch is he used Taysom Hill this year to avoid Winston looking good and getting a contract elsewhere like Bridgewater did.
It makes me sick, but Payton could already have Brees' successor in place, and he (Winston) will be the same age this year as Brees was when the Saints acquired him. |
