Id say that Zimmer needs to focus more on the first 3 quarters of the game,  specifically the first and third quarters.

also 5 seasons is 80 games,  we have only led into the 4th quarter 1/2 of our games?  thats not really that impressive.

I would bet that is a reflection of:

Strong Running Games
Defensive Philosophies and Schemes

The data point here is not how often we led going into the 4th quarter; it's how often we kept the lead. Always.

But I agree with your first sentence. And PF's comment that this is probably about a strong running game and a defense that coordinates well with that.

Maybe the best stat for the folks who hate on the offense, and Kirk, but this year the Vikes had more TD's than the Chiefs...

I saw that, too. That Dustin Baker guy has a lot of interesting stats on his twitter. Here's two more that should tell us something...

Kirk's lack of mobility plays a part in those poor OL stats.

What happened in 2017 and why wasn't it a catalyst going forward? Wasn't that the year Shurmur was OC?

Since Day 1 of Zimmer's tenure, the Vikings have ranked near or at the bottom of pass-blocking from their OL.

SEVEN LONG YEARS!!

2017, you had a mobile QB who extended plays on 3rd down, made throws when breaking the pocket broke undisclipined defenses.
With Zimmer as your coach, it would be wise to:A) Spend top money on a OL that performs for any QBB) Have a mobile effective QB who doesn't throw the game away
Kirk can put up great numbers, but with his cap $ we can't afford A and he will never be B.
Thats why the Cousins - Zimmer years in Minnesota have been a disappointment
If Wilson or Lance is there at 14, you fucking take him, give Kirk a year and groom that defense to support the young QB, Cook, Mattison, Jefferson, Irv, etc.

Why can GB have a great pass-blocking OL and Aaron Rogers both? I'll bet many teams with really good QB's, who are paid well dont have poor OL's.

KC's contract now puts him at what? #12 among starting QB's? I dont buy into the narrative you cant have a good Ol (team) because Cousins contract handicaps everything.

All that said, I would love to see the team acquire a young, smart gun with mobility this draft.
