What a joke, somebody please go ahead and defend Bidens actions on oil related issues to date.... I will be especially curios to hear about blocking the keystone 2 pipeline and then helping Russia move forward with their own.
Tell me again who's best interest our President is looking out for?
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Fuck this. More clown democrats democratting
Neuter your own climate policy when you have the momentum it push it over the edge and get passed SOMETHING, ANYTHING.
I remember when all I heard was that trump was the laughing stock of the planet, well guess who took his place.
the 2 faced energy policy,
the 2 faced covid policies,
the joke that is hunter and the lengths that have been taken to hide that shit stain,
trump was far from a perfect president, but its looking like biden will be a perfect example of being careful of what you wish for.

Well first off why do you feel the US has a role in EU trade agreements? The US dropped sanctions against an individual Russian corporation and a CEO. Keystone had one financial purpose, transporting diluted Canadian tar sands, bitumen, to Texas refineries for processing for export to overseas markets. You know those refineries that froze over last spring and shutting down the US east coast supply and spiking our pump prices. It's funny they never came down, once they resumed production. What do you think the US consumer benefits would be from opening keystone?

Regardless of this move, our climate future is better in the hands of the current political leadership than the previous one. Don't get it twisted and think this is a win for you. This is a necessary evil due to the tepid weakness of the Democratic Party.
Regarding Keystone, the benefits were never guaranteed for the people of the US, TransCanada said as much. The pipeline's products being exported would have a higher probability to increase the price of fuel for the midwest, not lower it. Over 80% of the off takers for the product were foreign companies, it benefited the exporters of oil, not Americans. All this while the global oil market stays volatile which means continued energy volatility for the US. The job benefits were never guaranteed for the people neither, the major winners in the pipeline's development have been cutting jobs over the years vs the growth of their competitors in the sector. The deal never had support of labor in this country because the numbers were inflated.
Becoming more efficient and less dependent on oil is the only future that makes sense.

so now you want isolationism? you dont want the US to get involved with matters of global importance, when the last president suggest pulling back on global issues, and putting American interests first, there were plenty that skewered him on it? then why should the US get into global climate accords, if its going to turn its back on a the "single biggest contributor to declining climate health" and permit other nations to expand their production and distribution abilities... while hampering those same industries here in the US?
the keystone was also going to transport oil produced in the US Bakken oil fields of Montana and ND. it was also going to feed off to refineries in other parts of the central US, using existing pipelines, but yes the bulk of the oil would go to the gulf, which coincidentally is where the bulk of the refineries are in the US that produce the bulk of the petroleum products used throughout the country. its pretty disingenuous to say that the sole reason if was going to the gulf was for export only, besides being a path way for Canadian oil to get to market overseas, those gulf states see a shit ton of economic benefit from exporting those oils from Canada, as well as all the American jobs and industries that are fed off the refined products and by products . then why did their shutdown have a spiking effect on the east coast pricing, perhaps the price of oil going up 25% since they announced that the Keystone XL was cancelled leading to more speculation and inflation of the market, ?
Okay, you convinced me, the value of this discussion isn't worth it

of course, because the economics of supply and demand dont apply to oil, when there is a more oil available it drive the price up? ok.
