Any 3T, OL or S worthy of #14???

Changed my mind on Barmore after the last 2 games. He is a true 3T and worthy of being a 14 pick.

Christian Barmore is an interesting prospect too. Maybe not at 14, but if we trade back or so. The few times I've seen him he was always making plays in the backfield.
He has flashed a few times today. The tackle on 4th down was pretty good
He's a big, strong, athletic kid too. Put him in between Hunter and Pierce.....That d-line would be a handful.

I really like Barmore too. It'd be nice if we could somehow trade into the 2nd round and snag him. Obviously that depends on a lot of variables, especially who we take in the first round
If there is one player who's going to see their draft stock rise after last night its Barrmore. We'll see how the pro-days etc go...But I'm wondering now if he even lasts till 14?

Early on, Barmore was seen as a middle first guy, but he hasn't had the best season. If he can move back into that area with last night's game, it will give the Vikings another 3T to consider along with Nixon. Need to see a lot more, but right now I think I like Nixon better. He sure moves better.

Leatherwood looks like an awful nice player, ready to move to Sunday's now...I think both those Bama OG's looked awfully good too.

I see Alabama weekly - Barmore has been a tad inconsistent this year, perhaps due to them using predominantly 3 and 4 man pressures. He has looked incredibly productive the last couple of weeks. I like what I've seen of Nixon, my only question would be the level of competition he sees weekly. Mac Jones has grown more in one year than perhaps any college QB I've seen. Stands in against pressure extremely well and delivers on the money most often. Doesn't hurt that he was in Sark's offense which I continue to marvel at. Separating Barmore/Nixon and Jones/Trask/Wilson/Lance are where you hope your scouting department excels. Being correct on those close decisions are where sustainable winning franchises are built.

Vikings biggest need IMO is 3T. Right now, it looks like there is only one 3T worthy of a first round pick (NIxon). And can we trust he'll be available at 14? Too risky. The Vikings cannot afford to go into 2021 without adding a starting 3T, so I see us filling that need in free agency.

With that in mind, I see us either taking an OL (plenty to choose from in the middle 1st), an Edge (Paye, Rousseau), a QB (Lance or Jones) or trading down, recouping our 2nd, and taking a safety.

I agree but there's not a lot out there on the market as far as quality 3 techniques that will be available.  Leonard Williams is the best, but he'll get a contract the Vikings wont be able to come close to.  Otherwise you are looking at a retread like Suh
I think Williams will be too expensive. I like Sheldon Rankins. Former 1st rounder, uber-talented, injury-plagued career keeps him at 2nd tier money. Saints can't afford towels in the locker room, let alone signing Rankins.
I think Rankins will end up being high on their list. Not only does he fill a need at 3T but the Vikings FO that is still intact were big fans of him in that draft class. If you look at their free agent signings they're tied to the majority in their original draft years.

Another name to watch is Geno Atkins. He won't break the bank at 33 but probably has a year or two left. I'm typically not in the market for adding older players but he is a good stop-gap option if they can draft and develop someone like Twyman who could be had in the 3rd round.

I still want to see more consistency out of him. You need to ask, why did he just put it together right now? My personal opinion is that I've always liked the upside of Barmore but just don't see the value inside the top 20 picks. He fills a need for sure but I don't even know if you can expect him to play >50% of the snaps as a rookie until he develops better pass rushing moves. If you promised me the finished product he is worth a top 20 pick. But it just is going to take time to get him there which makes some of the more instant impact prospects more attractive.

As of today I don't think there is a 3T or S that will sniff the top 15 picks which is kind of unfortunate. Depending what happens during free agency I think you can probably get an OT like Darrisaw at #14 who is a plug-and-play starter in place of Reiff. That doesn't solve your 3T or S problem but it does allow you move off Reiff and save $11.7M. That easily gives you enough cap space to chase someone like Rankins @MaroonBells suggested or Geno Atkins.
