The negotiations that allowed the 2020 season to proceed included a commitment that the 2021 salary cap will be no lower than $175 million per team. The upcoming negotiations (and it’s negotiated every year) regarding the 2021 salary cap could result in a number significantly higher than $175 million.
Per a league source, the possibility that stadiums will be full for the 2021 season could prompt the league to not tie the hands of teams by dropping the salary cap by more than $23 million per team, from $198.2 million. Although the 2020 season will indeed result in lower revenue than usual, the potential of a return to something normal or close to it plus the coming TV deals may result in the league keeping the cap in the range of $195 million.
Time will tell what the league chooses to do. Although a projected cap typically is shared with all owners in December, the final decision isn’t made until late February or early March, through negotiations with the NFL Players Association. By then, the league will know more about whether the vaccine is being distributed and working properly, setting the stage for coffers being restored via ticket revenue in 2021.
The losses from 2020 will still be absorbed at some point. However, most teams won’t want to tie their hands next year with a dramatically reduced cap. Pushing losses to future years also helps players by reducing the possibility of the widespread termination of veteran contracts.

I wouldn't hold my breath.. hearing from the DOH that we won't see wide spread anti-virus distribution until next fall at the earliest. They will be focusing on frontline people, those in nursing homes,, the elderly, and underlying conditions before moving onto the general population.
I have also been hearing that as much as 50% of the population will not take the anti-virus at least for the first few years. So I dont see states relaxing to the point of allowing full stadiums.

Both of your comments are a little dubious. You're hearing 50% of the population won't take vaccine? What does that even mean? Anti-vaxxers? Because there's nowhere near that many of those. Or is it that it will take years to roll out to the general population? Either way, seems like your info is off a bit.
Fingers crossed phase 3 of vaccine hits Q3 21. I think the country needs 60%-70% to take the vaccine for herd immunity?
But as we've all learned (especially in 2020) nothing is a certainty.
I sure as hell am hoping I can get back to USB in 21. Hell, I might even go watch a damn pre-season game there to celebrate.

Could be influenced by the lack of trust in the government that has developed. They had to show President Obama, Bush and Clinton saying they would take the vaccine publicly to encourage people to take it. That is definitely unprecedented. Of course there are anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists and other anti-government people.

Probably, it was on a CBS news report last week so I'm sure the info is sketchy. Many people don't trust the rush and the desire to get the bounty around bringing this to market.
As far as the timeline, my daughter, the RN, had covid last week and was contacted by the DOH and thats where the vaccine timeline comes from.
