take riddler in the third for a the future qb very athletic big arm
Why would we want to take those picks when we can trade them and get more picks in rounds 6 and 7?

If the draft was today the Jets, Jacksonville, Washington and da Bears will probably all take QBs ahead of the Vikings.
Sorry, I hate to say this, but I think the Vikings will fall out of reach of QB #4 by the end of the season.
OL or Trask?
Lots of holes on defense too?
I think I take an athletic OT like Samuel Cosmi or Christian Darrisaw in 1st Rd.
DT Jaylen Twyman and S Paris Ford in the 3rd
QB Kellen Mond or Desmond Ridder in 4th plus an OG
Rest of the picks... load up on defense
I agree we are out of the running on one of the top QBs so get offensive line and load up on defense again. we are atuck with Cousins for two more seasons barring injury. If Cousins can continue to play angry as he did in the Carolina game we might just make a run this year and next.
This was the year to have a bad record and get a QB but that ship has sailed so lets get in the playoffs and kick some butt.

Solidifying the interior OL makes Cousins better, makes Cook better, makes the D better. Definitely too high for a G that isn't Quinten Nelson, but impact wise we'll do no better. There isn't a 3T out there worthy of a first...maybe Tufele, but that's not a sure thing.
What might be more likely is an OT there, especially after trying to trade up last year for a shot at Wirfs. There's a bunch of OTs worthy of a low teens pick.
As far as the second goes, we have a ton of ammo to move up. 3 thirds and 3 fourths, depending on the comp pick.
Best overall value where we pick will most likely be CB or WR, and since we just spent two firsts last year there, I don't think we hit either spot again, save for a guy falling.
I wish they would concede that this year is a bust and start using these last few games as preseason. Try Oneill at LT, Reiff at LG, Udoh at RT. See what they have to work with. Hell flip Cleveland to LT and see of he can move outside and reverse his foot and hand work after 6 months of playing on the right. Paint ourselves a better picture of our real needs across that OL.
If the Vikings beat the Jags (likely) and the Cards lose to the Rams (likely) the Vikings are in the playoffs. Obviously pending how the rest of the season plays out, but there will be no conceding, as much as we might want them to.
Oh good another almost coulda been year. Uts one thing to make the playoffs with a good team beating good teams, but this year is a joke and this roster isn't even close to being ready for a SB run unless the other playoff teams all get covid and have to use WRs as QBs, and even then they will likely still hang 30 on Zims defense this year.

You know you're talking about a GAME, right? That you don't even play? Sometimes I worry about you people. Try to enjoy winning. And if we get to play another game or two, all the better. And if that means we get a lower pick, can't pass GO and collect $200? You know what, that's OK too. We'll figure it out.

Ahh, don't know about that for long term fans. Everyone is different. Even if you view it just as entertainment, its like watching a movie genre you love but always knowing how it ends before you watch it. I agree, getting into the playoffs is better than nothing but ultimately as in this year, we know how the movie is going to end....and it won't be the 'feel good' ending we all want. Always being left dissatisfied when you buy-in can take a toll.
If nothing changes but you expect a different outcome, isn't that the definition of (fan) insanity? I don't know, personally I don't judge any long-time fan of the team and how they feel about the Vikings, negative or not.
WE all just want a Vikings season that ends like a Hallmark Xmas movies...Once in our lives.
Rieff isn't getting any younger, and we beat him up on his salary this year. It's time to look for his replacement if we think Cleveland is going to stay inside. If we think O'Neil can move to the left side, Jalen Mayfield is worth a look as a RT.
How sold are we on Michael Pierce as a long term solution? There's a reason Baltimore let him walk. At 6' 0" 345 and out of work for a year who are we going to get next year? At the very least we know we don't have a true push the pocket DT #2 ala WIlliams Wall.
Like Reiff, Harry isn't getting any younger, and plays a position where the drop off will suddenly show up, and it will be a whole lot better not having the cupboards bare.
We're really thin at LBer and about to get thinner after the expected release of Barr this offseason.
If Pennix out of IN declares, I'd certainly give him a look in the 4th or 5th. Guy has the "it" factor, and threw for over 400 yds on Ohio State this year, nearly knocking them off. He would be a great guy to sit and learn under Cousins for a year or 2.
I don't understand the hype about Kwitty Paye. Granted the Michigan defense is absolutely putrid, but I haven't seen top 10 talent out of Paye. Any thought of putting him inside is insane. Pretty sure he's never played over 265lbs. Hutchinson is the better prospect with a nonstop motor, if not a a bit of an overachiever. Hutchinson blew out his knee this year, so might be a 4th rd. pick for someone.
