Teddy is what he is
#11
Hard to blame that one on Teddy. At one point he was 13 for 13. He also scored 3 TDs...against what might be the NFL's best defense. Panthers' problem is no running game without CMC and no defense. They were killed in TOP and the Bucs punted exactly 0 times.

Hope he's OK.

He completed 18 passes for 136 yards. I mean, lol, its all dump off shit. The Panthers are 3-7. I mean when do the excuses stop for Teddy? He's a game manager at best. Cousins is getting roasted right now and so would any other QB of a 3 win team. But what I see in this forum is always excuse making for him regardless. And I say this liking the kid. All I keep hearing in here is Teddy just wins games. He does?

You did this the last time he played the Bucs. Truth is, he's actually having a pretty good season. 2nd in the NFL in percentage of throws on target. 2nd in the NFL in best completion percentage. And doing it without CMC and without a defense.

Bucs have the best defense in the NFL in my opinion. Now, if Teddy had gone 16 of 35, 160 yards, 0 TDs and 2 INTs against them, I would agree with you. But that wasn't Teddy, that was Aaron Rodgers.

He's won 3 games. Like I said, its excuses as you are what your record is. You can't see past your own bias with Teddy. Its ok, I'm sure I've got my own I can't see past. Part of being human.

About 3 games more than anyone expected out of these Panthers. They just finished playing the Saints, Chiefs and Bucs. They're not good enough to stay with teams like that no matter how good Teddy plays. Give him a running game and a defense and you'll see him win a lot of games. He certainly won't "lose" you games the way Cousins can.

the Viking's swung for the fences with KC...I applaud em for that.

They did their due diligence and were (are) trying to win a SB while I'm still on the planet.

That's all I can ask for I guess.

And Cousins is doing a lot of handoffs and being paid a lot more. At least Teddy has mobility. I wish him well in his recovery. People used to say he wasn't a leader because he was too quiet, yet Cousins is not the most vocal. Cousins is looking like a game manager too. Cousins is a nice guy but he is not the future of the franchise.

Yeah, I don't understand the belief that we should've kept Bridgewater. I don't think there was any reasonable way that could've happened considering the severity of his injury and where we were in our window.

We took our shot with the best QB available at the time.

I was actually just thinking about that. You couldn't find two more different QBs. Both are quiet, but their mental makeup is so different. One seems to play his best under pressure and the other seems to play his worst under pressure.

I watched the whole game.  The first whole Teddy game I've seen since his last start for the Vikings 5 years ago.  Which always has me wondering why fans care so much about a mid-pack qb who hasn't played a meaningful game for the team for that long.  I get that he's a nice guy but in terms of football accomplishments.. meh.

Anyhow, he threw a lot of dump offs, he is like the king of the 4-5 yard pass.  He also threw a really bad pick late which kinda put the contest out of reach, though Brady was mostly on fire all day except on deep balls which he kept overthrowing.  That's right, 43 year old guy with too much mustard on the ball lol.  Tampa would have scored 60 if they needed to.

They put the backup in after Ted limped off and I kinda did a double take-- what's Teddy doing back in there.  Cuz the backup wears #6 which looked like a 5 for a sec and he's got the same skinny build as Ted.  Weird.  He was less accurate though and it was strictly garbage time stuff at that point.

Antonio Brown looks like he is starting to mesh with the offense which is bad news for Tampa's opponents, but their D is struggling after the hot start earlier in the year.

Teddy is exactly what I have always thought he is, a decent journeyman or mid-pack type qb.  Probably with the right combination of luck and circumstance he might get to a SB game once in his career, if his slight frame holds up.

But I'm not sure those circumstances will ever manifest as I don't think most teams are going to view him as a long term starting solution.  That notion is reserved for nostalgic purple eye shade wearers
