Trevor - Justin - Trey will be walking into a dream with the best RB-WR-WR
#1
Jefferson - Adam - Cook plus Irv, Mattison, and Ham.
Deal Kirk and Harry for picks or young G's
Jefferson looked every ounce as good as Julio did today.  He's already a premier WR in this league

Sounds like it has to be a trade.  Send him to SF so he can play with his boy Shanahan.  I'll take anything to get rid of him, some ammo to ensure we can deal up and grab either Trevor, Jusin, or Trey.  If you don't need the ammo, draft a big OL to play G for the kid

Depressing.

The extension they gave him in March is just baffling. It's the kind of deal that would make sense for Rodgers, Brady, Brees - in their prime - that is, for a proven winning quarterback that the team has ZERO DOUBT will be their starter through 2022. Did Cousins' results in 2018 and 2019 actually make Spielman say, "YES!!! I picked the guy, home run by me!!"??? Did the Wilfs buy into it??

They're going to draft a qb to sit behind KC...What round and for how long he sits we'll have to see.

He needs to be off the roster next year since if he on the team by day 3 of the league year his 2022 salary is guaranteed basically postponing the inevitable.
That tells me Spelman has a tough decision to make and it may not even be his decision. If we have to lose a high draft pick in a trade then that is a non-starter. We have to absolutely position ourselves for a shot at the top 3 qbs whatever order they may be
We need to draft a qb and start him. That gives the Vikings a cheap qb to build a team around.
The way Kirk's contract is structured we can't have him and a rookie learning. Unless we want to keep throwing good money on bad money.

The extension was terrible. Many people questioned the intent. Well, thats what bad teams do

Honestly, and yes honestly, why would any team trade for Cousins when they can go out to the nearest road and stop 3 cars and find 2 people better?

This contract was bad the day it was signed and it gets worse every week. Sad.
We can't afford to trade away a first round pick just to dump his salary, so we need to cut him and eat the money. Probably need to trade other vets to shed money just to get under the cap.

If nothing else, hopefully more people on this board will read this article, so they can stop proposing we trade Kirk away for an early pick. Never ever gonna happen.

NOBODY is trading for Cousins. Its a ridiculous premise. Draft a QB, let him sit and learn behind Cousins for 2 years or just under. The team is fucked with his contact in the short term. But that doesn't mean the future QB can't be drafted next Spring.
