I'm no O-line coach but Slater's short arms and how he lets guys get into his body says he's not a NFL OT, but an OG.*
*Take with a huge grain of salt. I don't even play a O-line coach on TV.

Slater was still able to neutralize him from getting to the QB. In fact, he wasn't even close to the QB with his pass rush. Since we need both Tackle and Guard, I don't think we can make a bad decision with him or AVT.

I would bet @ 14 the order would be: Slater, Darrisaw and then AVT....

If you watch the Chase Young tape Slater is the first one to engage on Young every single snap. So by the time Young is engaged, Slater already is controlling where they are going. Its really refined technical O-line play. That will play at OT in the NFL but I do think speed rushers may give him some trouble, especially those who aren't starting their rush on the LOS.

Who's ranking are those? i love Teven Jenkins but I've never seen him up around the Slaters and Darrisaws. And this is just the tackle list since it's pretty clear now that AVT is guard only.

Guessing Young went into this one without watching any Slater tape. Probably didn't expect much from a Northwestern tackle.
