No Joy in Mudville
#1
Its NFL Sunday morning and the joy and excitement is gone for me. All I can think is 'please lose so we can get a QB'. Sucks. I can't garner any nervous excitement and anticipation at all. Sigh.

I'm a game behind you. Not there yet, but this game will probably do it if we lose big. If we play well and still lose, I may need another game.

But I agree about the excitement. Was thinking last night about the errands I was going to run after my son's baseball game. Completely forgetting that the Vikings would be on. Now THAT is nuts for me.

I had to think for at least a minute about who Minnesota was even playing today. That is how crazy it is for me.

I am firmly planted in the tank for Trevor camp, but come every Sunday, I don the purple and look forward to what I can find as bright spots during the game.  Specifically I am looking for younger guys to get playing time.  I watch hoping to see some bright spots that we will be building around as we go forward and work toward a championship.  If things go as we hope this is not a long road, it's like taking the loop around the city to avoid all the downtown congestion and traffic.

  THIS!

With 15 draft picks I'm tryin to spot the next Oneil, Hunter, Diggs, Kendricks, Thielen, Cook , etc.
Players that made plays day 1, even if it was only Special Teams.

The NFL made  pass defense rule changes and took away Zim's ability to work with CB's 1 on 1.

All teams had to deal, I get it.

But did any other team lose their #1,#2 and #3 CB's?

I'm struggling to remember a season when I felt so down about a teams chances so early. Maybe its a sign of how tough 2020 has been in general.

OTOH, its a football game, and in the grand scheme of things?

A day like today? A home game? I'd be out tailgating on a gorgeous MN fall morning, maybe even a little buzzed by now. None of that. I miss being with some really dear friends doing something we all love doing together.

And these empty stadiums? Really leaves me lacking.

My curiosity is also in seeing how these kids develop over the season. And I hate to say it, hoping for a top pick or top 3 pick.

So does this game make it more... Or less joyful? LoL

I'm conflicted... I want this team to get a modern franchise QB. But watching them lose on Sundays sucks. And I still believe there is plenty of time to turn it around, be one the teams to stay "healthy", get Hunter back, and get on hot streak. Then who knows.

Wow, finally look like an NFL team only to fuck up again. What a joke.
