OT . . . Girl that was murdered by police, found to not be murdered by police
#1
No cops charged with murder in the killing of Breonna Taylor.  No second degree.  No manslaughter.

1am - plain clothes officers - battering ram - no knock

What's the percentage of how many gun nuts would reach for their guns if they were in her position?  100%

If Breonna's boyfriend returned fired killing a police officer, would he not be charged with murder?

America is a death cult

Oh by the way, the charge involved here was for endangering Breonna's neighbors, not for killing her.  This country needs new laws.  It's obvious we put property over people regarding values.

Good luck with the new riots Louisville

Suggestion:

I would edit the OP and move this from Longship to Sensitive Topics Forum.

Hell, the football news is more entertainment than we can handle these days...

I wasn't sure if I should do that or let the mods.  I'll fire it over now.  Thanks

I can't help but notice how this topic is being avoided. Where are all the folks that have been saying the justice system is not stacked against non whites and there is no white privilege? It would be nice to hear them defend this or would they take the "I will wait for more information excuse"?
The sad part is this outcome was predicted. It will unfortunately be the same for the Floyd case. They will fine a way to let the cops go free if nothing is done.

I can tell you I would have fired at the cops.  The main question is if the cops identified themselves prior to shots being fired?

HOWEVER, even if they did identify, anyone can say they're from the police department.  No knocks should be illegal.  If they're worried about evidence being flushed I can show the police this one neat life hack that can stop that.....turn off the water....
In this case, the cops can say they're justified IF they announced who they are.  I haven't looked for a bodycam but this would be like the most obvious case in the history of bodycams andwarrants to wear one wouldn't it?

Further discussion on this.  If you're a cop WTF are you doing going on a no knock raid in the middle of the night to a black persons home with an itchy trigger finger??  There is no chance in hell that I'm signing up for that one.  Way to many bad things could happen.

See . .  divided opinions can come together on common sense here.  1 of 12 witnesses allegedly heard the words "police" being yelled, 1 of 12 and if you know anything about witnesses/eye witnesses they sadly aren't as credible as we hope they can be.  No body cams, what's the point of having them?

I don't fully go the race route because to me race is the flavor in this case of the abuse of power that the police exert.  Trust me, I've seen the terrible video of the "domestic abuse call" in Arizona where a registered gun owner comes out of his apartment door, gun in hand not knowing who is at the door and is shot multiple times in front of his girlfriend.  He was white, to me it screams abuse of power.

The system has been infiltrated with rot (many reasons why) and the laws are wrong.  It is insane that the only charge levied here was the equivalent of someone getting arrested for having LSD on them.  That's the class felony this one PO will have to face for putting a bullet into someone's house.

They will face no repercussions for putting it a bullet into a human though

Thank you for the candid response. To add to the frustration there are no body cam videos. Why would you not have those and turn them on in such an assignment?

Regarding the race bit in bold. Thanks for grounding. I agree with you. It is just hard in this day and age not to draw that correlation.
