I think it was more about the offensive philosophy than anything else. Right now this offense is going downhill.

I don't know if our guys aren't getting separation? KC isn't finding open guys? Doesn't have time? Defenses playing differently than with Diggs in? 

Maybe its all of the above. 

Who ever didn't think we'd miss Diggs? Is sorely mistaken, at least so far.

Diggs was/is a far better WR than Thielen

He was the deep threat that kept an offense honest and allowed Thielen a perfect #2 job.

This is as almost as bad as giving away Moss.  Jefferson is better than Williamson but it’s set our offense back 2-3 years

It's the ugly truth and sometimes the truth hurts. I don't understand how some people thought he wouldn't be missed. It's all of the above. In the meantime, they need to figure shit out. In today's NFL, you need to score more. That's just the way it is. And they got rid of one of the best in the league, the impact is huge.

I knew he'd be missed but was hard to know how much. Diggs is talented. Josh Allen is on fire for Buffalo. It was wishful thinking we'd be ok replacing Diggs' production but this offense looks anemic. Dumb to go into this season with an offensive line worse than last year.

Diggs was the focus of most DC game plans. He made Thielen better, he made Cook better. Until the Vikings make teams pay for doubling Thielen, with either Bisi, Jefferson or ISJ, this isn't going to change. And that may not happen this year.

When the Diggs trade happened, at least half this board was slapping Spielman on the back and crowing about the “haul” he got for Diggs. I know I’m whining but I remenber mostly me and FSUVike saying the trade was bad and getting a lot of criticism, and FSU left this board soon after. 

The Bills sent us their 1st round pick which we used for Justin Jefferson. I like him a lot, but he might someday maybe be on Diggs’ level. The Bills got a proven star in his prime.

As for “the haul”...We received round 5 and 6 picks this year, which Spielman traded for later picks and I don’t know which 7th-round training camp fodder they turned into. We also received a 4th rounder in 2021, likely to be as good as recent 4th round picks like Jalyn Holmes, Jaleel Johnson, or Willie Beavers. Wow, the Herschel Walker trade was avenged!!!

Diggs was sent away for about half his value because he wanted to play in a modern NFL offense and be treated like other NFL stars, but Mike Zimmer thinks he is Woody Hayes and can not only run a primitive offense but can threaten players with losing their scholarship if they disagree with him.
