Just over a week away from NFL action...still feel a little numb to it
#1
COVID has definitely robbed me of my enthusiasm and excitement over the NFL season. Seems surreal that next Thursday night it fires up for real. Weird that some stadiums will have some fans and others will have none. Maybe come NFL Sunday week 1 I'll be appropriately stoked but right now its meh.....

Feeling the same amount of blah Sticky. Like you said maybe once they kick off against the Pukers the blood will pump just a bit quicker.

Yeah, no preseason to build up the excitement and the cloud of COVID hanging over our heads for months and months has me feeling kind of whatever about the season.  I hope it picks up when the games start being played...  normally I'm all jacked up about fantasy football too, but even that feels different.

A pandemic is no fun at all...

I'm holding out hope some football will be a nice respite. I'm sad I ain't talking about our next tail-gate, I'm going to miss that camaraderie with people I like a lot.

I miss Vegas, I miss buffets, hugging, shaking hands, concerts, not wearing a mask, not being spooked when I don't feel well...

And if we're healthy? I should just stfu and be grateful.

Same. A lot to complain about, but in a world turned upside down, a lot to be grateful for. Uncertainty is the mood of the day, whether referring to our jobs, our Vikes, fantasy, vacations, everything. And I'm not a big fan of uncertainty.

Kind of feels like this is just a "mulligan" season to me.  If we do well, great.  If not, oh well, it's not a "real" season anyway.  I'll watch but my excitement is dismal at best with no expectations.

I can't wait for the season to start.  I need this kind of distraction from all the chaos going on lately...

It's going to be interesting. I hope it lasts. It's going to be weird seeing the stadiums with and without fans, masks v. no masks depending on state. It just gives perspective and shows what not to take for granted. I hope for health and safety all around.

It's been a weird and stressful year, so it has been hard to get into the regular cycle of things. Plus, the uncertainty around the entire season is difficult. It will be nice to have football soon.

I'll also add that missing the preseason hurts, since we don't get that chance to see all of the young and developing players.
