Not unexpected. But he'll be missed on this team. He was a leader and a full effort guy, talented. But the Vikings knew they'd have to make tough decisions this year and he's one of them. Add the opting out of Pierce and its worrisome.
I got the feeling this is going to be an asterisks year at best. Not an MBA, but thinking this is okay for the salcap cleansing going forward. What will happen to these one year prove it contracts if the season doesn't last till Thanksgiving?
Ouch. Big loss but it's one we've been expecting. Wouldn't surprise me to see him have a few more nice years in a new spot, a la Ware, Peppers. He's a very good player. Best of luck, EG.
