White guy holding a BLM sign

Not even sure how to respond to this ugliness and hatred. Mind blowing in today's society. This is an actual town:

Not mind-blowing for me...

12 years ago I had the opportunity to move to Bentonville, AR for a big job promotion. Looked at big houses in big gated communities. Everyday I would have had the opportunity to call on the biggest retailer in the world and help them formulate business strategies. Heady stuff.

We were being shown the club-house in one of these communities and my wife had to walk around the poker room where women weren't allowed. That was the end of that.

Every time we ventured outside of the "Bentonville Bubble" it felt like Deliverance. Now this is an extreme picture I painted and of course all in the SE aren't hillbilly nazi's. There are some awesome souls everywhere.

That said? NOTHING in that video surprises me.

Colorado may lure us one day from MN though.

pretty sure it  was outside Harrison Arkansas on my first trip down there to see my relocated Minnesota family that retired in the ozarks I came across 2 signs to I will never forget.

The first was a real state DOT road sign that said "Litter Control Courtesy of the KKK"  I was pretty shocked to see that.

The second was "The Flippin Church of Christ Welcomes You"  (likely still my favorite sign ever,  I laugh to this day thinking about the sign maker that got that order the first time)  (Flippin Arkansas in case anybody is wondering... home of  Ranger Boats).

I used to fly into Bentonville as recently as 3 years ago to meet with Wal-Mart (Fayetteville before that)......did that for about 14+ years off and on and watched Bentonville grow from a small little hick town to a fairly bustling and trafficy place. The redneck factor is off the chart just outside the 'Bentonville Bubble'.

Colorado is great, especially the NW suburbs of Denver/Boulder. But people are moving there like crazy. My son and his gf live there for the past 3 years and love it.

Yah, thats pretty ugly, pretty raw and pretty real...

How ugly would it have gotten if the sign carrier was African American?

Ha! Truth Jimmy...

I still have an 87 year old dad here. Last of our parents. My sister wouldn't be too happy if I upped and moved right now...But I would be that much closer to my kid in LA. A place I could never move to btw.

Wow. Just wow. I'd be curious to know over what time period this was taken. Even if it's over a couple of days this is a pretty remarkable sampling.

You won't hate it. :-) Nobody's from here. And it seems the folks who love it most are the ones from the upper midwest. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana. Obviously the mountains are a draw, but I think it has a lot to do with the weather. 300 days of sunshine a year, no humidity and incredibly mild winters compared to the upper midwest and where I'm from, Montana. It's getting expensive though.
