  1. (6) Keep Hard Copies of Your Favorite Books, Movies, and TV Shows
Six years ago, almost to the day, I was roundly laughed at for warning people to hold on to their hard copies of Blazing Saddles and Gone with the Wind.
You see, I’ve been around long enough to have learned one very important lesson about the left: no matter how outrageous the idea might sound at the time, the left — with the help of its media machine — will eventually mainstream that idea.
Hey, we went from zero to gay marriage in ten years. We went from zero to drag queen story hour in ten seconds.

Speaking of other Southern symbols like Gone With the Wind....

So a black man (Floyd) born and raised in the South relocates to the great white North and is murdered by a racist Northerner (Chauvin).

So natch, more monuments need to come down in the South.

Just no end to the injustices you suffer, it is truly pitiful.

I was about to write a satirical version of this, but after finally reading through it, I realize it wouldn't have been all too different. Savvy, If you could get Jeff Foxworthy or maybe Larry the Cable Guy to read this on Youtube, you could make some serious money.

This was an ongoing topic years before Floyd’s death, but congrats on promoting the same tired narrative that white American males and their accomplishments for fighting to own other human beings are unjustly under attack like Christmas.

Funny thing - why is that symbols of racism and fascism are eradicated and taken down in other countries (Nazis in Germany, Saddam’s crap in Iraq) but here in America it’s celebrated as history, so much that rednecks who call themselves Patriots fly an enemy flag in their pickups?

I mean the same people who get their panties in a wad over black guys taking a knee saying it is disrespecting the US flag proudly fly the US enemy’s confederate battle flag cuz it’s mah heritage!

Classic conservative cognitive dissonance ...

Nice of you 3 to take a break from the book-burning & cinematic masterpiece censorship to chime in!
Rest easy, fellow Vikefans, I’ll defend the arts.
And yes, statues and monuments are works of art, too, certainly of varying importance.

To Robbie Robertson & The Band, they’re coming for you.  Not cool to artistically  express anything remotely celebrating the losing side of our country’s second most defining historical moment.

Direct your pity to mblack, suffering injustices, who when double-checked when he wants to write a check for his high-end Mercedes and NBA courtside seats.

I didnt ask for pity with my post, nor would accept it even if I deserved it, as I’m a Merkin, one of the luckiest M-Fers on earth.  Now Southern by the grace of God.

I dont have Southern roots (got here as quick as I could)

At one time in my life, I celebrated the political and ideological variance across our country
Then I lamented the vast chasm that's developed over time
Now that I'm older? Maybe a smidge wiser? I realize how important those differences are

This post is for a lib pain in the ass (imo) poster of yore. PurpleMember.

...we seldom agreed.. but he would have defended the arts....and a proud Southerner.... that appreciated the duality of the South.....

...,An homage...

PM sent my kids a couple Louisville Teddy bears back when! - he's a good dude and I wish he was around to thank him again. They've been beaten up as my kids have grown, but they're still in my Vikes collection.
