Pence was made aware of the protocol. He chose to ignore it. How much of a complete asshat do you have to be to ignore safety precautions in a fucking cancer center?

There is, as the demonstrations this week in US cities have shown, plenty of political mileage in denying the reality of the pandemic. It is fueled by Fox News and far-right internet sites, and it reaps for these politicians millions of dollars in donations, mostly (in an ugly irony) from older people who are most vulnerable to the coronavirus. It draws on a concoction of conspiracy theories, hatred of science, paranoia about the “deep state” and religious providentialism (God will protect the good folks) that is now very deeply infused in the mindset of the American right.

Could this article be more spot on?

not condoning or blazing him, just correcting the story line,
Mayo has since clarified that the VP was not notified of their policy, they notified his office of their policy (so maybe he wasnt aware of the actual policy?) when everybody else was wearing one he likely should have requested one, but he didnt as he has been tested regularly, doesnt mean he didnt have it, but very unlikely. should have likely still worn a mask. also read somewhere that he was visiting a cancer center, he was actually visiting the lab that is doing the blood draws for their plasma trial. these patients had already been exposed if they were donating to that trial. yes he still should have had a mask. I also think if there was the risk that some want to believe... the Mayo staff would not have allowed him to cruise around their facility without one.
