was it. just injuries that made quaretary drop?
PFF: "Davis doesn't have too much on tape that gets you excited. He got outmuscled by even college corners and isn't so overly dynamic that you'd feature him on screens or deep."
So...why did we get into a bidding war?

Maybe because the Vikings scouts don't agree with the PFF evaluation. Adam Thielen was such a terrible prospect he didn't merit even this level of criticism.

I was offering an explanation why he dropped.  As to "why did we get into a bidding war," keep in mind, he was passed on 255 times, 15 times by the Vikings.  Obviously, it is not like he is so valued.  As for Thielen, not even the Vikings thought he would turn out to be who he is.  There was no bidding war for Thielen; he was not even signed right after the draft.  He was signed after rookie tryout session at Winter Park.  And he was cut out of training camp.  Yes, so to compare Thielen to Davis, you can say the Vikes thought much more highly of Davis than Thielen after the draft.

Does anyone know what a 7th rounder gets paid?  Its always seem weird that we pay a lot for some of these undrafted.

You draft the ones you want to control but think maybe you cant,  and you try and buy the rest?
