Employers still responsible for payroll taxes and insurances ... so no benefit really to them other than to retain workers. actually its a harm, imagine paying the tax and insurance for dozens of employees when you have no income... that was a dumb ass waste of time if they were going to make that a provision.

its pretty obvious what the gov needed to do here to make this program actually be about helping small businesses retain employees. ( I would guess there are some loopholes for somebody in the fine print) but it makes zero sense for the average main street small business owner that doesnt need skilled labor to agree to take these loans/grants and have to suffer as a result.... they are already losing sales, and still have to pay all their other over head.
but I am not surprised, its not often DC gets one right.
