U.S. Was Beset By Denial & Dysfunction...
I posted a similar article above...National Medical Intelligence was reporting this back in November to Pentagon, White House etc.

COVID + ECONOMY will be the major issues this fall

Trump will attempt to claim leadership and vision, Biden and (my $ is on Warren) will attempt to show chaos, missed/ignored threats, poor decision making etc.

Depending on the short-term perceptions among Americans, this whole shit show will either get Trump re-elected or ousted.

U.S. intelligence officials warned of an uncontrolled illness in the region of Wuhan, China, in late November, ABC News reported on Wednesday.
The National Center for Medical Intelligence submitted a report based on satellite images and wire and computer intercepts showing a threat to the region’s population from the as-yet unidentified contagion, since dubbed the “novel coronavirus” by the World Health Organization. The report apparently raised concerns about the health threat to U.S. military forces in Asia.
“Analysts concluded it could be a cataclysmic event,” a person familiar with the report told ABC. “It was then briefed multiple times to” the Defense Intelligence Agency, the White House and the Pentagon’s Joint Staff.
“The timeline of the intel side of this may be further back than we’re discussing,” the person said, “But this was definitely being briefed beginning at the end of November as something the military needed to take a posture on.”
The coronavirus has since caused a full-blown pandemic, infecting over 1,400,000 million people worldwide and killing at least 83,600 as of Wednesday afternoon.
U.S. intelligence believes local authorities in Wuhan attempted to conceal the extent of the outbreak in its initial stages, fearing they would be punished by superiors if they reported large numbers of coronavirus cases. As a result, China’s government does not know the full extent of the outbreak within the country.
The first report of the new coronavirus in U.S. media appeared in the New York Times on January 6.
so then you send in the WHO doing their best kevin bacon impression from animal house disputing the intelligence reports?   no arguments for or against the report,  but either the WHO was and maybe still is a respected authority on global health matters  (who had boots on the ground)  or you dont trust them and run off some analysts reports based off satellite images.  In hindsight we all know who we would go with, but at the time would any president have called bull shit on the WHO and ran with theories based on satellite imagery?

To me, this reeks of the same incompetence we saw pre 9/11.

We need to look at the timeline.  Biden and the other dems were downplaying it in March and fighting Trump’s smart moves.

Some timelines that are out there

Your report is suggesting a conspiracy theory that unnamed intelligence agents concluded from satellite images (lol) and general spying that this "could be a cataclysmic event" before the first official person reported to the doctor?  They however were not able to capture any information that confirms the extent of the situation, because of "inaccurate reporting of cases at local levels of government".  They documented this in an unreleased to the public report that we can't confirm it's existance.

And we're supposed to believe this unnamed intelligence agent and unreleased report, over all the government officials in the world.

Am I reading this right?

Despite President Trump’s repeated assertions that the Covid-19 epidemic was “unforeseen” and “came out of nowhere,” the Pentagon was not just well aware of the threat of a novel influenza but even anticipated the consequent scarcity of ventilators, face masks, and hospital beds, according to a 2017 Pentagon plan obtained by The Nation.
“The most likely and significant threat is a novel respiratory disease, particularly a novel influenza disease,” the military plan states. Covid-19 is a respiratory disease caused by the novel (meaning new to humans) coronavirus. The document specifically refers to coronaviruses on several occasions, in one instance saying, “Coronavirus infections [are] common around the world.”

The plan updates an earlier Department of Defense pandemic influenza response plan, noting that it “incorporates insights from several recent outbreaks including…2012 Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus.”

Intelligence report warned of coronavirus crisis as early as November: Sources"Analysts concluded it could be a cataclysmic event," a source says.
As far back as late November, U.S. intelligence officials were warning that a contagion was sweeping through China’s Wuhan region, changing the patterns of life and business and posing a threat to the population, according to four sources briefed on the secret reporting.
Concerns about what is now known to be the novel coronavirus pandemic were detailed in a November intelligence report by the military's National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI), according to two officials familiar with the document’s contents.
The report was the result of analysis of wire and computer intercepts, coupled with satellite images. It raised alarms because an out-of-control disease would pose a serious threat to U.S. forces in Asia -- forces that depend on the NCMI’s work. And it paints a picture of an American government that could have ramped up mitigation and containment efforts far earlier to prepare for a crisis poised to come home.
"Analysts concluded it could be a cataclysmic event," one of the sources said of the NCMI’s report. "It was then briefed multiple times to" the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s Joint Staff and the White House.

More fake news?  Military sez this is crap.  Unreal that people will still believe the majority of the media.
