So where does QB Nate Stanley go?
#1
Big kid, nice arm. NFL ready body, but not very mobile. Played in a pro style offense with NFL protection schemes. Consistency issues. Where is he honestly slated to go in the Draft? Some draftniks like him better than others. Any interest as a later round pick for the Vikings? Sit and learn behind Cousins for a few years. Or is he part of the old style NFL and not a modern QB (more athletic/mobile)? Not sure if he has NFL starter upside.

Vikes should use one of their last 7th rounders on a developmental guy like Jake Luton. Or priority UDFA.

He doesn't have an NFL future IMO.  Not worth a pick, even a 7th.

I like him a little better than Wetlander.  He can make reads and any required throw, even audible (gasp!), will stand and deliver while taking a hit, and doesn't make many dumb decisions.  He can also miss any required throw and he's slightly more mobile than Kirk Ferentz.   Basically a nice 10-year clipboard holder/spot starter.  Anywhere from 5th round on down I'd be fine with him.

No where, he's sheltering at home.

I know a few people close to the Iowa program. They wouldn't be surprised to see him go as early as the 3rd. He's a really smart kid and a hard worker. Will interview very well. Has a good body and extensive experience in a pro style offense. Big arm. One intriguing thing is his mechanics. O'Keefe and Iowa don't really teach a lot of throwing mechanics and he comes from a small high school program in Wisconsin. Nate has said he basically used his pitching (baseball) mechanics for football. He's been working on them this offseason with private coaching. If he improves his deep accuracy, which is always a crapshoot, he could be a very serviceable NFL starter.

In a way, I think he's a bit like Cousins. My biggest concern with Nate, aside from the accuracy, is his "jitters". He is an overthinker and would benefit from trusting his prep and trusting his arm while sacrificing a few mistakes for big play opportunities.

I didn't think there was any chance C.J. Beathard would go in the 3rd
round. But it only takes one coaching staff to love a player for it to
happen. Based on what others are hearing, I'm going to guess 3rd-5th and
it will be to a team with an aging established starter.
