The inability to bring players in the physical is the biggest obstacle for these two. Clowney has had major injuries in the past and just had core muscle surgery. Everson had his in-season issue a year ago that most teams will want to dig into. He is doing much better now (obviously) but its more due-diligence on if he will be able to have solid footing in a new situation.
I know that reports have all but indicated that Griff is a goner, but is there any chance that he does re-sign with the Vikings? I know money is tight, but he's still a good rusher, knows the system, is a good locker room presence, and the alternatives leave much to be desired.
There is a chance. But its unlikely.
That mock of yours can't come quick enough.

Any chance we take a flyer on either Vernon or Wake to be a pass rushing specialist/3rd DE for rotation?  I wouldn’t mind Wake to spell Fedi and on pass rushing, move Fedi inside on obvious passing downs.

Draft a DE to develop (BPA) and sign a vet who can give you presence and understand his role?

Titans GM Jon Robinson said he's been in contact with free agent Jadeveon Clowney's agents.Despite re-signing Ryan Tannehill and tagging Derrick Henry, the Titans are still top-10 in available cap space.  They also have a need after releasing Cameron Wake earlier in the offseason.  Built on running the ball and playing defense, fortifying their edge presence on the defensive side makes a lot of sense.  Harold Landry is a fine player, but he's not a dominant force off the end.  Clowney is disruptive in the pass-rush department and also plays extremely well against the run.  Clowney is said to be willing to wait this thing out until he gets the money he's looking for, which is believed to be roughly $20 million per year.

If the Vikings want to sign him then I hope they wait until two weeks after the draft.
That way he wont be included in the compensatory pick calculations preserving the 3rd round pick for the inexplicable contract that Waynes received.

Cowboys signed LB Aldon Smith, formerly of the 49ers, to a one-year, $2 million contract.Smith is still awaiting full reinstatement from the NFL, but the Cowboys are confident he will get yet another shot. Smith hasn't played a snap since 2015 because of a series of off-field issues that included multiple DUI arrests and a domestic abuse plea deal. Now reportedly sober, Smith, 30, will try to prove he can return to his early 2010s form when he was one of the NFL's best pass rushers. Smith's reinstatement would be evidence that the Commissioner will be more relaxed with player punishments under the newly-signed CBA.
