The #Texans and CB Bradley Roby have agreed to terms on a 3-year, $36M deal, per @MikeGarafolo. Staying in Houston after signing a one-year deal last offseason.

They really want one of Trae/Mac back. If the market comes in closer to $10-$11M they likely will bring Trae back. But I don't think that will happen, he will top Roby's deal on the open market and think he could get closer to $14M.

I think it will be Mac. He'll be a lot cheaper. And they will give him the opportunity to be an outside corner. Of course, that will depend on who they draft.

Man, that's by far my preference. And this from a guy who was predicting the Vikings would pick Waynes before anyone else (Wetlander lies notwithstanding). The same guy who likened the Alexander pick to making an indulgence pick after you've won the Super Bowl when the team had so many glaring needs on Offense.

After watching them both develop, and as an FSU alum I'm all about DBs, Mac grew farther, faster. The crux of the matter is how...He played Outside Corner at Clemsnon. With swagger, by the way. Trae was in one of those funky 'boundary corner' hybrid man/zone things only colleges do. With lightning speed and measurables. And looking better on tape when Scouts were supposed to be watching Dennard during Waynes sophomore year.

I get keeping Trae on the outside. I don't get drafting Alexander to play Slot. He's twitchy, that's his best asset IMO. But that plus being a little shorter doesn't automatically mean move him to Slot.

A lot of playing Outiside Corner is between the ears. Just like hitters in baseball. The game is designed for you to lose more than you win. So like Closers and Goalies and Golfers you have to learn to shut out the last mistake and focus on the current play. Cockiness is one tried and true way to shake off giving up a big play.

Mac Ax has always been about cockiness, swagger, getting in his opponent's grill. At Outside Corner. And Zimmer turned him into a slot CB, which is more about short area quickness and mirroring the opponent and feeling where the scrum you have to avoid is going to come from. It's just a different thing than playing Outside for a zillion reasons that are way better than this attempt to describe it.

I believe that Alexander was not happy being cast as a Slot CB. It didn't play to his strengths. But after some fits and starts on and off the field he got pretty good at it. That doesn't mean he wants to keep doing it. For less than what the good Outside CBs get. And I'm sure he's always thought of himself as as a good to great Outside Corner on the League.

The likelihood of him staying in Minnesota at Slot CB is nearly zero IMO. And he'll definitely test whatever market there is for him at Outside CB.  If there is one, he's gone. And that's a damn shame, but I certainly wouldn't blame him for wanting to start on the Outside for someone who believes he can more than Zimmer ever showed.

Do you think that Alexander would want to come back? I thought there were rumors that he wanted to test the market, so I do worry that we could lose both Waynes and Alexander along with Rhodes already.

@FSUVike Wetlander lies? Maybe take things down a notch? Calling a respected member of the board a liar isn't a great look.

Constantly calling out or name calling any members of the board isnt a great look at any time.

So, by calling him out for calling someone else out, did I just perpetuate what I wanted to mitigate?
