My go to line has always been I aint running if I aint getting shot at,  chased by a cop,  or gonna get tackled. 

As far as the grizzly,  some years ago a couple locals went grizzly hunting in canada,  they were allowed to take a protective side arm on their hunt and one of them brought a smaller caliber pistol, when their guide started to mock the 38 or what ever it was and asked how that was going to save him from a grizzly Rick responded that it wasnt meant to kill the grizzly,  just to slow down his hunting partner when he shoots him in the leg. :p
