Do you understand how a grand jury works? Same concept - no due process. The defense has more options AFTER charges are filed. That is how impeachment inquiry in the House works, to determine if there is enough evidence to bring charges to the Senate.@SFVikeFan said:
Due process is something that should be afforded to anyone being accused of something. Making it up as you go is a joke and is what the dems have been doing since day one.@JimmyinSD said:
Jimmy there is no due process at an impeachment inquiry. It isn’t a criminal court case. That is what frustrating you guys don’t understand the process and just repeat GOP talking points.@SFVikeFan said:
Typically due process allows both sides of an issue to be able to bring witnesses to support their positions.@JimmyinSD said:
what about the process was such an issue?@SFVikeFan said:
I have no problem with going after illegal acts by trump, find one and go after it. But the way the dems ran the process is a sad joke.@JimmyinSD said:
Because it is the law??@SFVikeFan said:
Why do all Republicans act like there is no case for obstruction of justice? No evidence that Trump and White House ignored subpoenas? WH blocked Bolton, Mulvaney, Pence, and others from testifying.
If it was such a perfect call why are they afraid to testify?
Willful ignorance by GOP pretending the POTUS is king and Congress has no right to oversight, acting like all the witnesses who testified under oath didnt have conversations with the people the White House refused to put on the stand.
So much for the law and order party. Because the house process was an embarrassment to the senses. Why would anybody accused cooperate with a process that was so partial. The fact that these things dont seem to follow any sort of organized due process makes the whole thing a joke.
Congress provides oversight to the executive branch.
Are you saying that a sitting President can ignore any and all subpoenas and can block his staff from testifying because he doesn’t like the people investigating him?
Quite a precedent you want to set.
Don’t like the rules? Republicans wrote and voted in the process, now GOP is pouting like children Dems are using them.
America is not a dictatorship but that is exactly what Republicans are saying they want: no oversight, no checks and balances, no answering subpoenas, welcoming election meddling from foreign countries.
What happened to you guys?
This has nothing to do with checks and balances and has to do with eliteists pouting over the fact that they lost.
As much as the dems cry about trump being an embarrassment to the country, their handling of the defeat and 3 years and counting attempts to sabotage his presidency is the real embarrassment and it will reflected in the next election imo.
Trump declined being involved so not sure why GOP screams about process yet they voted it in.
The crimes are being covered up because WH refused to let aids testify and release evidence.
Why is it all the people who swore under oath what they heard and were told are lying but the ones who refuse to take an oath are telling the truth?
Again, this is how Republicans voted to structure the process ... all the bellyaching is over following the rules created and voted on by the GOP.
Trump had an opportunity to bring evidence and declined.
Trump had an opportunity to testify and/or present evidence. He declined.
Crying about not being invited to a party after declining the invitation makes no sense. And dude not being a dick here but you keep repeating due process while not understanding that is not how it works either with a grand jury nor with impeachment inquiry at the House level.
Don’t like the rules, not my fault.
