Now slap yourself silly,  who comes up with some of these friggin laws?  They should be held accountable for this persons death.   Who the hell would ever want to step forward against a violent criminal or organization with no protection of privacy?

I think he was doing his civic duty when he agreed to testify against the notorious gang.  Its the laws that make his identity (and IIRC his personal contact information) available to the defense that caused his death.  There is no way that any judge should have ever made his identity and location known.

Yeah, HE was great.  It's the citizens of that state (city?) that allows these kinds of rules to go into effect.

Unfortunately these laws are going into effect in most states.
