Vikings WR Adam Thielen officially out BUT ...........
#1
#Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is not playing today as he fights to get the scar tissue out of his leg. But all parties are optimistic he can be on the field next week. No extended absence expected.

Several factors can increase the risk of hamstring injury: older age,
lack of flexibility or strength in the muscle, fatigue, and prior injury
to the muscle. (After any hamstring injury, inflammation and swelling
cause scar tissue to form, which makes the muscle weaker, less
flexible more prone to injury.)

Sounds normal, but still not great?  The more prone to injury part scares me.

How do they define extended absence?  Isn't 6 weeks extended enough!

If this is going to be chronic, we will need to look for a WR in the off-season...

Agreed.

There's no certainty here's gonna heal.

That this has lingered isn't a good sign.

The fact that he was giving it a go in KC a couple weeks later suggests that it wasn't a real bad tear or there is no way a trainer would have had him out there that soon.

I dont think he did more damage that game either as we didnt see him get hurt,  he was just shut down so I'm guessing another tweak there.

Hammys can be season ending,  we knew when he went down that it could be this long or longer depending on severity.
