Grass
#1
This team seems to really struggle to play on grass fields.  It's like watching a complete different team.
Cousin's really struggles with planting and we see poor throws from him as we did yesterday.
The defense also seems to have trouble with speed and footing on grass.  Great teams overcome weather and field conditions to find ways to win.

It was also windy yesterday at Arrowhead. JMO, but its not the grass, its the other outside aspect like wind, cold, etc.

Cousins mechanics were just off yesterday on many of those errant throws.  He wasn't squaring his body or coming forward with the passes which let that wind get under the ball more than it should.   That DLine can be tough but KC was looking off before he even got hit or hurried much.

I know everybody needs to blame somebody for the loss,  but the Vikes just got outplayed across the board.  Diggs couldn't get open when they needed him to be and Cook got stuffed way to often between the tackles.

Treadwell was our leading receiver with 3 catches for 58 yards....arent going to win many games with that stat line

And the D...well shit,  they made the KC O look pretty damn good for far to much of the game.  This new look of letting teams eat clock isnt working out for Zimmer.

It wasn't the clock eating drives, it was the 91 yard run.

The field looked fine from my vantage point even with it being a grass field.  It did seem like the wind was stronger on the field more so than the place that I was sitting. Judging from the flags, referees pant legs, KC horse riders hair.....  Wink

or the TD in the first to Hill,   or the missed XP by Bailey,   it could be put on a lot of things,  but when our D needed to make some plays and get off the field they came up short... but yeah that 91 yarder was a deep cut.   its seemed like the D had them up against it so many times yesterday and they just kept shitting the bed.  good plays to put them in long yardage situations and then brain fart coverage to bail them out.

Conditions are the same for both teams. The Vikings practice outdoors. Is that grass or turf.

IIRC they have both grass and artificial turf at their disposal at their practice facility fields... although this time of year in Minny the grass conditions wouldnt be close to what they played on in KC yesterday.

That is what I saw as well.  Not sure it is grass because he played in DC on grass.  But his mechanics looked like Cam Newton out there.  And one huge gaff that really cost us the game in that 3rd down slide.  KC got a FG off that turnover, it should have been a first and we likely keep marching and score.
But yes, it was a team loss.  Hunter got washed big time on that 91 yard TD and harris got juked out of his shoes. Harris really struggled on D IMO.
