Fleck signed a 5 year back in 17 and they extended it another year in 18:

He originally signed a five-year, $18 million deal in 2017.
Base salaries per season
2017: $3.5 million
2018: $3.55 million
2019: $3.6 million
2020: $ 3.65 million
2021: $3.7 million
2022: $3.75 million
2023: $3.8 million

I'm a little worried about the Maryland game...  They've played really good and really bad this season.  Depends on which team shows up.

That said, the Gophers have been playing better and better as the year has gone on.  It would be sweet to get this win and make that Penn State game really interesting...

And they are looking at a new deal already?  Absurd.

Yup! That's college football for ya. I don't  think its about the pay raise per se, it's probably to secure him for a while so he does not get poached by the big programs without a significant compensation/ buyout. Right now I think its about 3.5 million which is terrible.

Maybe they can keep him.   The urban environment might be more appealing to him and his family than some locales.    And the facilities are now state of the art in every way, he won't find a better situation that regard.

If they want to keep the bigger teams from sniffing around the y have to. Not that a contract matters, he'll buy it out when the big schools throw huge money at him.
