I don't agree that Cousins is a player in decline. I don't agree that the Vikings are yet out of it. And I don't agree that it's wise to bring in a rookie QB without a veteran in place.
that veteran doesnt have to be a top of the market declining veteran though, you can bring in a bridge guy to mentor the youngster and take snaps if necessary until he is ready. as far as the rest of your post... thats why I call you Homer, you will be the last on this board to see it, and it will take you even longer to admit it, its not a bad thing, its just a blind spot for you, but I bet you get more enjoyment out of the wins that way so good for you!
LOL. Honestly, I think I'm the one with a better grasp on reality. And not so much because I think the Vikings are a Super Bowl team; more because I see them in proper context with the rest of the NFL.
We had someone a couple weeks ago bitching about how Cousins passes, despite the fact that they hit his receivers in the hands, were a foot off, as if that's a bad thing. Or even unusual among good NFL QBs.
Case in point, just for context, check out Mahomes on the play below. Best QB in the NFL. LOVE to have him. But at 4 secs, he's got a clean pocket and one wide open receiver for a 1st down. He doesn't throw. At 5 secs, he has two open receivers and doesn't throw. At 6, he has a 3rd receiver deep who scores if he throws the ball. He doesn't. Eventually protection breaks down and he throws to the 1st guy, who's still wide open, but he throws it a mile over his head. Imagine how Viking fans might react to this.
Oh but Cousins was off by a foot!! On two TD balls....that hit his receivers...in the hands. It's this shit that drives ya crazy, and makes ya wonder if some Viking fans just don't watch other teams.

of course you do, you always do, thats your reality.
What's your reality on the Mahomes play? How would you respond if that were Cousins? Can you be objective? Honest? Fair and balanced? ;-)
Here's an honest assessment on the Mahomes play. It was game 1 of the season against the Lions with no preseason work and everybody is knocking the rust off, including Mahomes, who was without his favorite safety blanket in Kelce. He tried making that throw with Hutchinson pressuring and yanking on his jersey and the ball sailed.
I've been critical of Kirk in the past, but think he had been spectacular prior to last Sunday. Don't know what happened, but what I do know is Kirk's going to have a couple games a year where he makes inexplicable mistakes and looks like crap with no reasonable explination. That's been his MO his entire career. With that said I expect him to rebound and play well against KC this weekend.

I was critical of the Chiefs in that they should have used preseason to get that shit out of their system, since that game they are 3-0, If its Cousins I say WTF have you been doing all preseason, which is pretty much what I said about the Chiefs, however are you really saying that Cousins and Mahomes should be held to the same scrutiny? I would say Mahomes resume ( and rings and trophies) gives him a lot more rope than Cousins will ever deserve.

At least you admit it. It's a start I guess.
Doh!!!!! That won't help his ranking
So do we get to see more "highlights" of Oliver's blocks and what a mauler he is. Two weeks in a row he is responsible for a 14 point swing in the game, brutal fumble that let to 7 for KC and then a potential TD pass through his hands. 20+ million on two TEs who have been one of the bigger factors in the 1-4 start.

Two opposing things can be true. It can be true that Oliver is a terrific blocker and also responsible for key errors in the last two games.
But honestly I have a bigger problem with the THREE balls that went through the hands of TJ DroppinSome.

TJ Hockenson- 30 catches, 254 yards, 2 TD's = highest paid TE in the league
Sam Laporta- 25 catches, 289 yards, 3 TD's = rookie contract
Again, which team is that trade looking better for?

its the notion that this team was just a few pieces away from contending, the sooner reality hits KAM and the Wilfs square in the ass, the sooner they can focus on actually making moves with the focus on building a SB contender, not just a team to win the North. I think the focus and excitement about winning the division is for losers, you are either in it for a SB, or you are just trying to sell tickets. The longer they drag out this shit path, the longer its going to take to turn it around. People talk about wasting JJ if they move on from KC, well what about wasting JJ by continuing down this shit path of building around Cousins and Hunter... cuz it aint happening.

Agree, he was the biggest disappointment of the game and possibly of the season so far and it is just not the dropped passes and the ones that are going right through his hands, but just the complete lack of effort and physicality. I think we all know now why he wasn't practicing, they should have cut the whiner then and now that he has his money, we see what he is really all about. Totally looks like he packed it in.
