He carries it well in a towering 6-foot-8 frame with 34-inch arms, delivering a 4.40s short shuttle, 4.84s 40-yard dash, and stunning sub-7-second three-cone despite his high-cut frame. That is ludicrous movement ability, and it’s reflected on the film.
We haven’t seen Brown take a live snap since 2019, as the FCS 2020 schedule was moved to the spring, when Brown had already performed at the Senior Bowl and entered the NFL Draft cycle. With that said, there’s only so much you need to see of Brown to understand what you’re paying for: an extremely raw, but truly once-in-a-year athlete at a position in which we’re seeing better and better development over the last few years. If you trust your offensive line coach, drafting Brown on Day 2 makes sense as an insurance policy for your aging veteran starter.


I generally don't care for OTs this tall, but this guy is really growing on me. Day 2.

I keep trying to think of an NFL comp for Penei Sewell, but the guys who move like him (like Terron Armstead) are smaller. And the guys closer to his size (like Andrew Whitworth) did not move as well coming out of college.

how does he not go to the bengals at 5,  or now the Phish at 6 since both drafted their franchise QBs last year?  I just dont find the optimism that some have that he will drop into our range  (10-14)

 I wouldn't call it optimism. But there is a chance. Rick Spielman once said they ran over 8,000 scenarios in 2013, and not a SINGLE one had Sharrif Floyd dropping to 23. It happens sometimes. With Sewell it happens because of character concerns and the fact that there are 6 prospects (3 WRs, 1 TE and at least 2 CBs) that will be very tempting to teams who might have taken Sewell. Add in one team who likes Slater over Sewell (a very real possibility) and it's not as crazy as you might think. Not likely, but very possible. 

Much less likely now that Panthers will not be taking a QB.

When you start to compare all the measurables I don't know how compelling of a case you can make for Slater playing OT. He has pro-bowl potential if not all-pro potential at Guard and could maybe be an average to slightly above average starter at OT?

Lamp just signed a one year deal with the Bills. Not sure what the hangup was here....but we NEED to pull two starting caliber offensive lineman from this draft.
