Cousins melts under pressure, real or perceived

0-2.

Try again.

Hint: 5 games allowing 3 points  after half is kinda important.

You trying to say that your defense only giving up 15.4 PPG is important? Yeah, but giving up 25.4 PPG creates more dialogue Smile

Maybe I should get out the crayons and draw a picture?

I get when folks get upset about the poor Kirk turnovers, but there haven't been very many this year. Have there been times and games where the defense has played well? Yes. To still hate Kirk though is simply hilarious, especially when you look at the Defensive PPG Leaders and how many points the Vikes scored vs them:

Cardinals #4 at 18.7 - Vikes Scored 33, but we did have a pick 6, so I will say 27
Green Bay #5 at 20.2 - Vikes Scored 34
Seattle #6 at 20.8 - Vikes Scored 30
Carolina #7 at 21.1 - Vikes Scored 34

And before I get labeled as a Cousins apologist, I'm going to give that a big fat nope. He's a theatre kid in a room of alpha male jocks. He's totally devoid of "It". I'd love to move on, but that's not going to happen any time soon.

Give him an average D that doesn't routinely shit the bed when the game is on the line, and we're easily a 3 or 4 seed.

"...the Vikings have allowed 101 points in the last two minutes of any half this season. Given that the Vikings have allowed 305 points in their first 12 games, that means that a full one-third of the points that this defense has allowed this season have come in the final two minutes of a half."

Seriously, folks...Cousins isn't even in the team's top 10 problems at this point, maybe not top 20.

Since this thread has gone a little off-topic anyways I'll add that holy cow, what a masterful coaching job by Bill Belichek last night. Outgunned, outmanned, in a hostile environment and wild conditions and the guy calls three pass plays and wins! Buffalo had chances and could have stolen the game many different ways but Pats held firm. Impressive.
I wonder how many other coaches in the league could win that game with the Pats roster last night. Maybe a few, but certainly not in that same fashion. Was fun to watch.
Yea, Bellycheat did prove he is one of the Top coaches, no doubt.

I always acknowledge that he was very good but I always gave Brady way more of the SB wins credit in the Belly vs Brady debate.  I was happy Brady won the SB last year and confirmed my preconceived notion that Brady carried Belly.  Plus the Patriots sucked last year with Cam.  Well it took the one offseason for him to turn that roster upside down.  Signed a bunch of free agents and spent big time.  Belly is not a good drafter, when you look at his record, but of course Brady in the 6th and now Mac at 15 at the most important position on a team.

Prior to the game I was excited to watch Dabol's offense vs Pats Defense.  Dabol was such a hot HC candidate in fandom coming into this season but that has faded as the Bills have struggled for any balance on Offense.  I am knocking Dabol down at all but The Belly certainly won that matchup.  I also think Sean McDermott is a Top-tier coach and I like crappy weather games going back to the PPE so I really enjoyed that game last night.  That is what happens when you have no skin in the game because I have not enjoyed watching the Vikings at all this year.

Lastly, I had Mac Jones as my distant 4 QB, after Lawrence, Wilson, drop off to Fields but still Top 10, then Mac in teens/20's along with Lance.  Mac Jones has been the best rookie QB and is an excellent game manager who does not turn the ball over - perfect for a rookie and the Belly system.

The Brady and Bill argument is a lot of fun and I think it's evenly split, especially if Bill can do some damage in the postseason without Tom. There have been Super Bowls where Tom lit it up and carried them (Atlanta, Philly, Panthers) but then there have been plenty of Super Bowls where Bill's defense was what shined the most (Rams, losses both times to Giants).

Patriots have averaged almost 30 ppg this season with a rookie QB.

In the past 5 games, the Patriots have scored 14 (in a tsunami), 36, 25, 45 (against the Browns who we couldn't even score more than 1 TD), and 24 points.  Much easier for a defense to play with a big lead.  So quit acting like if we had the Patriots defense, we'd be a great team.

We've seen Kirk with a strong defense in 2018 and 2019 and we won 8 games and 10 games...  he had 2 stud WRs and Dalvin too...  but keep dreaming if he just had this or that we'd be really good!!!
