True leadership

Jimmy—sorry for the rant.  I’ve read the kind of crap some people are spouting for some time now.  I’ve said to myself—let it go.  You will never change their minds. Live and let live. But this isn’t about politics.  It’s so much more.  So I went off.  Like I say —sorry. I know I will change no one’s mind. I guess I did it just as a way of letting off steam and maybe more importantly to define myself, to say this is me and my truth. I don’t listen to MSNBC. But a man who would put children in cages where they remain today(please no false equivalencies to Obama) or talk about his ratings when people are dying or who makes governors kowtow to him (and I heard with my own ears the governor of Michigan say supplies were being held up by the the White House because of he felt slighted by her)that man is way beneath contempt. And those who excuse him (“sure he says dumb stuff” etc) will have to answer for their craven forgiveness in the face of overwhelming evidence of his irredeemable, immoral behavior.

Jimmy-I won’t bring this up again. Sorry again for stirring you or anyone else up.

Hahaha the pictures of the kids in cages were when Obama was president.  And the Fake News media lied.

You would think Hollywood would understand pedophilia and sex trafficking.  Kids are kidnapped and brought over as slaves.  You can’t tell whether the kids are with proper parents or not.

We want legal immigration.  Not Soros funded caravans.  Not MS13. Not sanctuary cities.

Boy those liberal policies have worked well.

lol, gotta say, I love the non-apology directed anywhere but to the one you called names.  Glad we have you to call out irredeemable and immoral behavior.  Wish I could say I expected more.

I referred to the “evidence”of his irredeemable, immoral behavior.  And I cited it.  Go ahead deny or excuse it.  And I sincerely doubt you wish you could say you “expected more.”It passive aggressive comments like that that make you sound so holier than thou. And laughable.  I KNOW what to expect from you.  And you never disappoint.Btw I too am at high risk, as is my wife and daughter. But I didn’t hold that up as some mark of virtue as you did.

@Caactorvike It's not worth the key strokes or aggravation.

I have found some solice in the fact that trump isn't the issue, but merely the symptom.

Hope you and yours are well.

You have your rights to believe what you want,  and for the most part to share those views here.

as far as the gov of michigan,  is she being truthful?  Its been documented that those in opposition will make extreme comments to discredit the other party/politician.  I dont really trust either of them,  but in a time of national crisis,   is it really likely that any president past or present would be that petty when it involves American lives?  I put hillary only slightly above snake shit and I dont think she would even be that bitter on a grand scale like denying aid to an entire state (especially in an election year)  however I think both parties would like you to believe that the other team is doing exactly that (especially in an election year)

as far as kids in cages... lets have that conversation at a calmer time.

I dont forgive him for his dumbassery,  but at the same time I weight his words against his actions as president,  and IMO he is doing a much better job than I expected when he was elected, despite him being an embarrassment in terms of knowing what to say and when.

I have taken a big step back from most of this shit,  because I dont have the stomach for either side,  but this health crisis is in my face and I am reading everything, double and triple checking about everything I can,  I have been one of those that had people talking behind my back a month ago because I was calling for more precautions and I know that a certain cheeto colored guy in DC was saying the same things...honestly what really convinced me that this shit was for real,  was when Trump himself cancelled campaign events to try and keep his supporters safe.... when an ego as big as his, that needs to be fed like his does,  cancels events designed to feed him like a HS football team at a buffet,  that told me that I was on the right side of this issue.

Here are two fact checking websites regarding Obama and Trump and Kids in Cages.

https://apnews.com/2ebfa802626241b187315f1cccf37996

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2019/sep/13/joe-biden/fact-checking-biden-use-cages-during-obama-adminis/

I don’t think we really need to have too much discussion on
that as it feels off topic, but I do think people are giving our leaders too
much credit and aren’t focusing as much on the specific policies and the
institutions that are implementing the high level directives.  Both the volume of border crossings (from
Obama’s presidency through Trumps)  and
the pandemic are examples of crises that are dramatically exceeding than what
our institutions have been tested to in the past.

I think it’s pretty easy to just point fingers during a
natural disaster, as by definition bad things are happening, but it’s not as
easy to specify a policy that everyone feels comfortable with and that’s what
we should be aiming for.  There's no policy that's going to make all the deaths go away.

Absolutely right Medille. You make an excellent point—it’s easy to point fingers during a crisis. And while there is “ no policy that will make all the deaths go away” a cogent federal response would help. Right now states are competing with each other for masks, ventilators etc. and price gouging is the result.  This is not a virus that honors state boundaries. We need the power of the federal government to step in and see to it that supplies get to the most needy with urgency.  It can be the arbiter of what is fair and equitable. I know people have qualms about federal overreach, bureaucracy etc. but I see it as temporary and a risk we have to take.

Hahaha You have no freaking clue what Trump is doing.  Ignoring the truth.  And misunderstanding the roles of everyone.

Thank God he stopped the travel from China in January and didn’t worry about the racism and xenophobic cries from the left.
