Typically it's when the Starter is struggling and in this case case is struggling to throw 5 TD's and be near perfect in passing percentage. If I'm Zimmer and you yokels are wondering when Teddy starts, I let it roll any play it out and fricking advantage to keep the opponent guessing. I wonder why the Vikings waited until the absolutely had to to activate Teddy?

Why the hostile tone, papa? I actually hope Zimmer decides to start Keenum this week. As Barr and I have pointed out repeatedly over the past couple weeks, I don't think it would be logical to start Teddy this week, especially when you consider we play Detroit 4 days later on Thanksgiving.
These next two games may very well decide if we win the division and have a shot at a first round bye or if we are looking at a Wild Card. I think we have to go with Keenum for sure his week and then re-evaluate the following week and so on.
I'm not buying La Canfora's tweet. I'm not saying he's wrong, but I'll believe how it's going to be when Zim says it.
Who knows, maybe this was "leaked" on purpose for the Rams' ears...it's going to be a tough game so why not?

so an hour after the coach says he will tell everybody wednesday.... he decided to let lacanfora in on his plans? the way Zim likes to hold his cards close to his chest he just spills the beans 2 days early? count me as skeptical....not that he is going to start Case... that he would let it out so soon.
also, Laconfora is known for two things.
1) being wrong more than most NFL guys
2) having a wonky crazy lazy eye

I have absolutely no problem if they take a risk with Teddy, the upside is enormous. Case is playing at his upside which you can no doubt win games with. But I really don't think Case can take this team to a Super Bowl. Its not that he isn't capable of starting, its the fact that at some point the team is going to be down 10 pts late in the 3rd quarter and I personally don't think you can win that game on Case's arm. His accuracy is just too erratic. Teddy isn't going to come in and throw for 300+ a game, but I do think if he plays on par with his 2016 level the accuracy and ball placement alone will erase the lows.
Teddy didn't play in 2016. You must have meant 2015
Case isn't afraid to throw the ball. That's why these guys are here.
According to @PFF, Thielen (4th - 281) and Diggs (5th - 269) both rank top 10 among WRs in REC YDS on passes that travel 20+ yards in the air. #Vikings are the only team with 2 WRs in the top 10 of this category. #skol | |

Drama killer...
Jason La CanforaVerified account @JasonLaCanforaVikings will be sticking with Case Keenum as their starter this week I'm told. Highly productive. Clicking w/ receivers. Great fit in scheme
I think he's guessing, not reporting.
Zim didn't let anyone know Griff wasn't playing until just before last Sunday's game, and yet he's willing to leak who his starting QB is?
No Schitt either he breaks it early if Zim goes Case or he drums up hits for two extra days till he posts something else.
I don't see how there is any way it isn't Case.

Sorry for the hostile tone, was not my intent. I do find this "debate" rather perplexing. Case has a career best performance on the road, outdoors on grass. The organizations best performance from a QB since 2009. It's Monday the day off for the players, zimmer has just reviewed the game film. 8 mins into the PC and the question comes "Is Case going to start this week"? Why is that question being asked in the first place? What more from Case would warrant that question? The Vikings were up by 18 points on the edge of field goal range and the bad pass/Interception came. They didn't go into conservative mode after that interception either. Why? Zimmer addressed that earlier in the PC about playing with a lead, game was in hand we need to do a better job ( meaning the offense, Shurmur is calling the offense) Zimmer even says Case played good those two interceptions were bad he says but the rest of the game he was good. I highly doubt Zimmer has been waiting for Teddy to be ready to play for his chance to put him in the lineup. If he has then after the first horrible interception would have been a good opportunity, the second one as well. The Vikings continue to push the ball after those two plays as well with Keenum. Still nothing to warrant pulling case, and nothing to warrant benching him.
8 mins into the PC zimmer gets asked "Case going to start this week"? he pauses staring "I don't know I haven't talked to anybody this week, I'll wait until wednesday" keep in mind this is Monday I don't believe players are around? know I don't know when the game plan is implemented and honestly a lot can happen between Monday and Wednesday in terms of injury, zimmer is keenly aware of this. But again why is this being asked?
and Zimmer is not known to give out information that he dosen't have to. He could have squashed this "debate" right then and there, but it's to the teams advantage to have others(teams) guessing what they will do. The next question comes and it's about Sam Bradford or it's a further question about Case but prefaced with Sam Bradford and Zim's relationship with him. You can see Zim get irritated with the preface, after all Bradford has been a "non issue" for awhile. But Zim is candid with talk about case and his relationship he does say he won't say what he told him to today which indicates players are around, then a few questions about Adam Theilen and then "time for 2 more" reporters jump over each other "mike, you said you haven't spoken to anybody about who the starter will be, "Do you know? who the Starting QB will be? comes. if you think about it that's really a bad question to ask, it's kinda like challenging Zimmer "yes" he says quickly and curtly then turns away from that reporter when the follow up comes "would you like to tell us"? and the look on Zimmers face I'm surprised he didnt swear at him. Zimmers tone are expression changes "Why would I tell you and I haven't told anybody else"? then looks away with a big smirk on his face. He's pissed.
I don't know how someone can come up with the idea that Zimmer is planning to start Teddy and this is proof that he's going to do it.

That is not correct. after the second INT, Case only threw 4 passes for 17 yards, that was the entire 4th quarter. none of them were more than 3 yard passes IIRC. Rudolph gained 7 yards mostly after the catch for the longest one.
