Tannenbaum on ESPN this morning thinks Kirk will get a contract offer in the realm of 35 to 40 million a year, but won't be fully guaranteed due to age and injury. Thinks the Vikings have a line in the sand and will make him their best and final offer prior to the owners meetings so they know where they are prior to free agency. Thinks Atlanta is by far the best alternate fit and that if Cousons gets a fully guaranteed deal he should be inducted into the sports business Hall of Fame lol.

Jeff Darlington thinks Kirk is a goner and goes to Atlanta

I think the money will be roughly the same. The market is the market. So I'll say what I've been saying for two months: for Kirk it will come down to Atlanta (or whoever) for 3 years or the Vikings for 2.
I don't think there's a market for him beyond Minnesota and Atlanta in a real way and even if there were, I think these are the only 2 opportunities he would seriously consider. Its not like the Falcons have a shit team, they don't. Kirk's wife was born and raised in Atlanta and went to the University of Georgia in Athens, so this is a real choice if Atlanta is truly interested. But although I much prefer getting Cousins back in Minnesota, my line in the sand is no 3-year contract and the whole thing can't be guaranteed.
If Atlanta traded for Fields tomorrow I wonder what that does to Kirk's market? I keep hearing this "line in the sand" talk which is fine but that line is constantly moving. It's just how leverage works. Currently, the Vikings have no leverage with Kirk so we offer X. The more teams drop out of the running, the more our offer should DROP, not increase. Kirk and his agent know this. The idea that the Vikings have told KC, "we're going to give you this many dollars for this many years, you get back to us when it's convenient for you" is not realistic. KAM will lower any offer in a heartbeat if it helps the team. As he should!
The Vikings and Kirk both appear to be playing chicken to some degree with one another. I have no clue who's going to win. We might get absolutely fleeced, we might get Kirk for a song. So much to be decided in the next month or two.
All it takes is 2 teams....

Trade-ups aside, ATL at #8 looks to be in a good spot for QB4 in the draft.

Has anyone heard anything out of the ATL camp that they have interest in Kirko? I have not.

Teams can't say anything right now. But I think there are very good reasons why they're currently the favorites to land him. They very much need a QB; Kirk spends offseasons there; they have the weapons and could consider themselves a QB away; they have a top 5 offensive line (2nd in pass blocking); and like the Vikings, the Falcons run a McVay offense.

I think he'd probably prefer the Vikings over a dozen other teams. But if the Vikings offer isn't close to theirs, it's going to to be hard for him to ignore how well he fits there.
....AND (I completely forgot about this) they have a pick in the top 8 that they won't have to use on a QB. Imagine pairing London with Marvin Harrison or Odunze or Nabers to go with Bijan, Pitts and 2nd best pass blocking line in football. Damn, I think their situation might actually be better than ours!
Their division looks easier too. He'd probably prefer to stick with KO and our offense, but Raheem Morris makes the coaching aspect a lot closer than if Arthur Smith was still there, I imagine. I could see Atlanta being in the market for Fields as well.
We've all been hearing Kirk/Atlanta Kirk/Atlanta because it makes sense, but they were originally the likely destination for Belichick too, and in the aftermath it doesn't sound like he was ever that strong of a candidate. Falcons beat writers might not be as plugged in as some other teams' writers are.

Boomer was claiming at one point that Billy MAY have been offered the ATL job and turned it down...

Do what you will with this explosive news, but apparently there's a legit chance Kirk comes back and a legit chance he explores the FA market.

Some insight on the Kirk Cousins sitaution from @Schultz_Report:

"The safest most realistic route is to bring back Kirk Cousins... but I also don't know if that's what Kevin O'Connell and Kwesi want to do because the roster right now is kind of in flux... there's a legit chance Cousins' comes back and also a real shot, Kirk go ahead and explore the FA market."

vegas thinks there is steam in the Fields to Atl,  odds for it happening went from +600 to -130 in less than 2 days this week.

FIelds from the outside doesn't appear to be a great fit for what their O coordinator likes,  but who knows?

I just don’t think there’s anyway that either Cousins or
Hunter are signed prior to free agency or at least tampering happening unless
we pay them more than they were hoping to get from the market.  I don’t see any real downside for them in
testing the free agent waters and they can still resign with the Vikings if
they want.

I totally agree that I doubt there’s any way that Cousins
gets the 3 year fully guaranteed deal from anyone.  I think the best he’ll get is some sort of conditional
guarantees that guarantee the next year if his availability or performance are
still in line with what people are expecting.
I think a decent possibility is something like 3 years / $105-120M with 1
year guaranteed, and each following year guaranteed if he plays in 15+ games
and has over 3800 yards.  I don’t think
we would do that.  I think we would want
a harder out after year 2.

The combine will be pretty interesting to see how the market shapes up. Since there is no binary in/out it'll be interesting to see where the conversations start vs. where the Vikings line in the sand is. Would Pitt, NE, LV get involved somewhere in the middle if the reality is less than the initial ask? MNs offer is probably flexible in dollars but it'll be a single guaranteed year (2024) with partial guarantees in 2025.

Geoff, any perspectives (or reckless speculation) to share regarding how much the Vikings are prioritizing a rook QB this season?

How they may end up stacking their board?
